I reckon Callinan is a better player than magery mediallist Allen.
I think Callinan would be worth been picked up by an AFL club. I know he is 24 however you could get 5 years out of him.
He looked awesome in the Grand Final, probably the best player. His ability to get the ball in the forward lines and finish off with great goals can not be taught.
I like to see him get picked up.
Good luck to him.

Gun at SANFL level, but considering the Crows are just starting their rebuild I doubt they'll draft him.

A small guy who can read the play and finish in front of goals....they could do worse. Worth a punt in my opinion.

And this is why the doggies recruiting is top notch.
Callinan is clearly a quality player who would probably succeed at AwFL level but it is unlikely at his age that he will be looked at. Not many players get drafted first time that are older than about 19. The system sucks but that is the way it works.

Matty Stokes from us to Geelong may have opened AFL eyes to the older player re drafting.

That's changing in recent times as CD says
Look at Stokes, Hudson, Mahoney, Gill - some players get it together later and AFL clubs are doing their homework better than ever these days

And the amount of AFL talent scouts at all SANFL games surely the word must be getting back to afl clubs.

I said not many. 4 is not many. Not impossible but most get drafted young amd those that are taken late are usually talls.
