PAFC B & F

Postby Hawks22 » Tue Oct 16, 2007 11:18 am

I heard a rumour yesterday that the PAFC wanted to charge their players $ 75.00 per head
+ $ 75.00 for wives / girlfriends to attend their B & F Presentation. Apparently 23 senior players did not show up.

This may be another tall story .... A sad day for SANFL if it's true thou.

Can anymore confirm or deny this ?

Ugly if true.

Says a lot about the financial state of the Maggies if true.

Have the players been paid yet?

Norwood are charging players $55 per head and same for partners so maybe it is common to do such. Pretty rude I say.

LOL I was going to put this in earlier but bit my tongue ... Unacceptable IMHO but says more about Norwood's inability to fundraise, that they have to view club events like these as money spinners - Perhaps a smiliar issue with our respected foes?

If a club is struggling financially I would have thought charging players "cost price" might at worst case be acceptable, but certainly not full public price as is the case with NFC.

Perhaps if a club actually put some effort into running events (more than 1 or 2) specifically designed for raising funds throughout the year, they wouldn't need to charge the players and trainers etc.

If players get free admission to their B&F count, is it included in the salary cap?? ;)
