Which SANFL Player...

Postby Punk Rooster » Tue Oct 23, 2007 2:12 pm

...wants a free overseas trip?
Apparently, this bloke is shopping himself around to (3) prospective SANFL clubs to spring for an overseas trip for him & his partner, so as he can have some "thinking time" about his future- & just perhaps this "future" will be with the SANFL club who pays for this trip....

Is the player that naive to think clubs will fall for this?
Especially when said player says "Thanks very much, but I've decided to stay at my current club..." upon his return...

given the amount of players leaving there in droves recently (last 2 years), you'd arguably say yes- he may have even won a B&F.
PS He's already on his 2nd club already...

I think they need their ruckman...
maybe I needed to use the word "allegedly"....

Don't worry smac, he's not from a northern club. In fact, you could suggest the exact opposite... :-k

Allegedly and assuming that the South ruckman, whose namesake is a golfer, is actually doing this and his club now knows this (if true) then given the new broom going through i can also assume he is now free to leave as i understand the new broom either has players commited to the club or seeya son.

But D16- what if (allaegedly) the player is "only" doing this to gain an all expenses paid holiday for him & his partner?
Is he being dis-loyal to his club?
I would consider it un-ethical in general terms...

Sorry, I don't know much about golf, so I can't help you

But Punky did'nt you say he has gone to 3 clubs, this seems disloyal to me, maybe someone should take a club to him, say a nine iron.

Present tense: Player is shopping himself around.
Aptitude and future tense: Player is naive to think clubs will fall for this.
Past tense: Player has returned.
I can't follow this Punky. I don't know how others have. You say he wants to go overseas, and he's naive to think a club will finance such a trip, but you also say he has already returned?
If the time expression in the final statement is the correct one, can I ask if a club allegedly paid for his trip? And if a club has, that would make him not so naive right?
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
