Col D's Eagle News

Postby cd » Mon Feb 13, 2006 10:47 pm

As you are probably aware I'm again on the WWTFC board and I hope to post every so often to give news etc. re the Mighty High Flying Eagles. I have enjoyed all the preseason banter on this website - it has been great and may I add to it - happily I can again say the doom and gloom/rumours about players leaving was wrong!

First if you aren't registered go to the club website so that you will get the weekly emails - during the 2005 season members were provided with 3 emails per week.

Not a member then join up now - We have a category to suit everyone without any price increases from 2005 but with added benefits including merchandise vouchers for all members. In fact we have some of the best value packages of any club including full adult membership and entry to all 20 minor round games for just $100.

Get out your diary and mark THURSDAY MARCH 23rd for our first free ‘Members Night at the Club’ – free food, drinks at reduced prices for members, merchandise, free raffles, interviews, news and special announcements– a great way to launch our 2006 season.
More details in this month's newsletter - watch for yours in the mail soon.

We are conducting free members draws for all those who renew their membership - 2 have been held already (congratulations to Peter Bennett and Gary Burton) with February's now under way - great prizes available with the major draw for $200 cash in April. Another good reason to renew your membership

Players are training very well with heaps of enthusiasm and confidence. The new recruits have fitted in very well, as have the new additions to the coaching panel. Hear more when senior coach Ron Fuller is interviewed this week on 5RPH - Wednesday breakfast show at approx 7:45am

2006 Trial Games - all times to be confirmed

Internal Trial Saturday March 4th Thebarton Oval

Eagles v South Adelaide Saturday 11th March Noarlunga Oval

Eagles v Centrals Saturday 18th March Elizabeth Oval

Eagles v Glenelg Saturday 25th March Thebarton Oval

Have you caught Gavin Colville's radio ads yet?- listen out for them - Remember to check out 5RPH on Wednesday - Last year we had a record membership - Lets break that and create another new record level of support in 2006.

Col, I only charge $50 per advertisement for Eagles functions, I'll add this one to your bill! :P
Seriously well done on keep your members and fans up to date, I have no doubt your work online would account for some of the extra people you have signed up as opposed to the same time last year, keep up the good work and good luck in '06.

Agree Duncs7 if not an Eagles fan you may find our news boring - good to see you support the original Eagles in Elizabeth - the Blue & Gold Elizabeth FC that started out at Ridley Reserve in the Torrens outfit with the big Eagle on the chest.

I did think though that there may be other clubs fans interested in what Ron Fuller has to say re the coming year - 5RPH tomorrow at approx 7:45am

Unfortunately there's no Pale at Prossie, I'll have to settle for something Japanese owned. :(
Definately want to catch up, look for the blonde hair clown on the boundary taking snaps on the boundary or down near the southern bar.
And you're welcome to post anything about any SANFL club on here as is anyone, we can never have too much SANFL news no matter which club it is.

PS Rd 1 is going to be a huge one IMHO, could set the tone for both clubs for 2006. Be interesting to see how the Big O goes!

Agree Wedgie - really looking forward to round one - should be huge and hopefully a very large crowd at Prospect - both clubs would be wanting to see a strong turn out of fans - could we be the TV game?

My son and I have been having a chat re round 1 , I for one would think big red would do his time honoured straight through the oppersition ruckman trick . So maybe the Roosters should have a strecther ready just in case Scarlett Ohara needs it .:D wedgie you may get a great picture out of the first bounce

Keep posting CD I have finally signed up for the email updates kept saying all last year gotta do it this year Ive taken the plunge.

The NAFC coaches are well aware of that eventuality early on and you may find Lindsay going head to head with either Weatherly or Alleway - so it will be the eagles needing the stretchers!
