Thanks Phil

I cant believe the lack of FNF games, esp early in the season when weather is still good

looks like less Sunday games as well...again not a lot of thought put into it on the surface

But exceptional work by the SANFL to put the Rivalry Round up against that pathetic "all star" game the AFL is flogging on the weekend on 9-10 May

Looks like a lot of Sat arvo games for the Eagles, which is a good thing. Only two games at Thebby next year. A bit bizarre only having one game at Woodville in the first 8 rounds, then 4 of the next 5, then 5 rounds again without a game at Woodville.

Round 1 looks more like a true Rivalry Round due to all the teams playing thier closest neighbour

I dont have a problem with Sat footy but crowds wont be as good as those involved in local footy cant get along...which gets backs to the point why no FNF on the first 6 weeks of the season? :-k :-k

Lack of suitable venues probably. Adelayoval is being refurbished next winter, so is out of commission, the Parade is awful and Elizabeth is too far away for a Friday night for most...

It is disappointing that the draw is so lopsided
 many occasions of two teams playing each other 3 times while they have played other teams only once
 byes not spaced anywhere near evenly
 uneven runs of home or away games for teams

It is obvious that whoever put the draw together has a very poor grasp of combinatorics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combinatorics).

Come on SANFL - employ someone who actually understands the mathematics behind putting these things together. There are people like me who would happily do it for nothing.

The Round 5 ANZAC clash of Nwd V South..is that a night game? Would seem strange to have 2 games on friday arvo.

Some sanity has prevailed regarding 'last byes' - the top 3 from last year all with a bye in round 20, giving 3 games preparation for a likely finals campaign. Well done SANFL.

A lot of the apparent inconsistencies would be due to club requests for certain games in certain rounds leaving the SANFL with little room to spare.

Great way to start the season for the dogs, night game at home - unveiling the flag in the twilight will be excellent.

From a South point of view:

Only 3 home games on Sunday, well down on last year
No game down at Victor, but a trip to play Sturt at Murray Bridge
Avoid playing centrals and eagles until round 10
3 matches against Glg, Sturt, West and North

Cant complain too much.

Rushby, your post highlighted something - North play Glenelg & have a bye in round 20.

Norwood have been booted out of the SANFL by that stage.

Well, if it is supposed to be Glenelg vs Norwood, it would mean we would play them 3 times in 7 weeks at Glenelg!
