Sturt may have a light at the end of the tunnel but the last hearing for Norwood kind of went like 5hite.There could something there as we know norwood are struggling. But at this stage its probably bullshit like most things at this time of year.

I wouldn't beleive it, someone has just made it up. Norwood have their fair shair of troubles at the moment but not at that point yet while Sturt seem to be turning things around.

With Sturt's latest little problem with the ATO it may be on the cards.

I don't think that's the issue here Stan, moreso the amount of combined debt the clubs have, mainly Norwood.

Think this one is a fair way off the mark. While it is highly possible two clubs will merge in the next few years, I'm not sure it will be either of these two...

From our GM....
Let me make one thing clear. There has been no discussion with the SFC about merging – none whatsoever. It has not been discussed at Board level, whispered in corridors or joked about in the bar. I did say at the SFC lunch before Norwood played at Unley last year, when I spoke as a past player, that Norwood would consider merging if the team wore red socks and a red and blue guernsey, played their games at Cooper’s Stadium and were called Norwood. This is an old Doug Thomas line that seemed appropriate at the time when there was speculation along similar lines to this morning’s forum gossip. I told this story to a group of blokes at a beer booth Friday night when they were offering their opinions on a merger and clearly someone has heard the wrong thing.

There's only one way a person could have misinterpreted his comment.
They're suffering from mental retardation.
Most likely a Crows supporter then.

This sort of stuff pisses me off, and I'll bet it does to other people too. Whether it is someone who heard it from a "reliable" source or just made it up, I think these people should should shut their traps, unless if the matter is official or about to become official. People seem to get really bored over the summer...I could never imagine Norwood and Sturt merging.
Edit: Jimmy, I don't mean you - I mean someone who originally posted on db.org that they heard it from a reliable source.

READING BETWEEN THE LINES, A CURRENT AFFAIR STYLE

spell_check - got that in one. Stuff like that does p*ss me off to read it. Obviously someone without a sense of humour, or an ability to see irony. While this could ordinarily be Mark Williams, we can rule him out this time.
All jokes aside, good to see the GM come out and refute it all strongly. Very typical of some people to attempt to put a dampener on what was an excellent night with little more than mischief.

Very disappointing if that's the case PP but I think it's also not good that you have to go to someone's private address on a non match day to buy club merchandise.
Perhaps I am naive on the situation but how many other clubs in the SANFL can you not buy all your clubs merchandise at the actual club?
