Very encouraging news for the SANFL if they can get this project into motion. An investment of 100K is needed to make it happen, so maybe we should increase the car parking fee at Crows & Power games in order to bring in the required coin for the project!

This would be really good way to go. I would be there every game. I love night footy and thebby would be a brilliant place to watch it from.

Sounds like it's going to be done. Well done to the West Torrens council for being proactive about this as well, rather than be a stumbling block like some councils would have been.
Despite it's limited use over the past few years, the facilities there aren't too bad, and certainly better than facilites at grounds like Coopers Stadium.

Everone wants lights.
Everyone wants marquee games.
Is the SANFL gonna end up being a night competition with the odd day game on public holidays?

Will North be the only club that wants Saturday afternoon games?

A major part of the upgrade to the lights is that the SAAFL have taken up a lease at Thebby and wanted the ability to have night games as it will become the main finals venue and be used for games during the season.

I agree. Norwood is a far better place to watch a game of footy, taking all things into account, than Thebarton.

Thebby does have a hell of a lot better parking facilities. That's about the only thing I can think of though.

Only Adelaide Oval could lay claim to having better facilities than Norwood Oval.

Other way around, Coopers >>>>>> XXXX Gold.
Wont even start on Adelaide oval's food and drink quality and prices.

Add to that a bigger outer, no brick wall nearlly on the playing field.
A new scoreboard and upgraded player facilities, catering etc. and it would be streets ahead of Norwood, not to mention I could nearly walk to Thebby

Reckon it's a great idea, get the said improvements that have been mentioned from those above done it would be a sure winner, only thing I hate about Thebby is we always these days seem to get a belting

Love going to Thebby but needs a big upgrade, more than just lights to become a regular SANFL venue. Remember the Port Cheer Squad taking candles to night games there about 1982 so hopefully they arent the same lights.

Wow, didn't think Port supporters would be afraid of the dark

"Only Adelaide Oval could lay claim to having better facilities than Norwood Oval."......is correct.
I dont like night football especially in the middle of winter.
Good luck to the Eagles though but it seems a lot of money to spend for a few games and I think it is an underhand way of getting the Eagles back to Thebarton permanently.

The eagles will never leave woodville!
