I reckon the Eagles will go backwards and it wouldn't surprise me if North do too especially if injury hits the wrong sort of player where we have no depth.
For eg if O'Hara goes down we'll be trusting 1 or 2 ruckmen who haven't played league footy regularly if at all.

After missing the finals for 5 straight years there's not much left for NFC to be disappointed about other than a wooden spoon, and I cant see that happening.
I think the eagles are vulnerable to sliding this year but not sure that any club will be a big disappointment - unless something happens to Central, North or Sturt this year.
Every year south and west are slated as the "potentials" - Collins vs Cahill will be something to watch over the year. I'm hoping Norwood will be the big improver tho and with some good recruiting in the off season they have given themselves every chance.

squawk, i actually think norwood will 'win' the spoon so that is going backwards in my book, the reason i think that is norwood who always get plenty of the ball do not kick big scores & will lose matches because of this imho
ps, if the bookies put up a wooden spoon market i'll be on norwood

so if Norwood fall from 7th to 9th, that will be the big disappointment for the season of all the clubs?
You might be stirring bayman, but in any case I think that the spoon is improbable. which brings me to a question for you - which is harder to pick generally - premiers or spooners? OK so Central have been a runaway success and its easy to pick them top each year but in a comp like the AwFuL with drafts and salary caps, which do you think is harder to pick?

squawk, not stirring just giving my honest assesment & i've thought that norwood don't kick big scores for a few years (check past posts in gambling room) as for your other ?'s afl is obviously too hard to pick but in the sanfl generally it is easier to pick the spoon than the premier as there was usually 3 or 4 chances to win & 1 or 2 for bottom the last few years changes that a bit

You only hope the Eagles go backwards wedgie. I'm predicting we play another prelim at least.

Don't hope that at all mate, I'd be quite happy beating them twice in the finals every year.
Assessment made purely from their ins and outs.

Forward- West (solid recruiting), Norwood (solid recruiting), South (maybe more disciplined with Jack at helm)
Backwards- Centrals (can't go forwards anyway!!), Eagles (biggest shaker downwards; didn't look that good last season thou beat us/ drew us), Sturt (love to see them where they belong:out of 5), North (missing a few of 1st selection players), Port (can always hope).
Not commenting on Glenelg just yet so 50/50, should make 5 a little easier hopefully

few things Ive heard from down there, add the second year blues from many of their players that played out of their skin last season....Ruck will be a huge issue if Feasty goes down or struggles, Forward line is excellent but defence is a worry

Fair enough, especially with the ruck duties.
I hope you are wrong though.
Dare I say it.
