I see on sanfl.com.au that the site is under an upgrade at the moment, let's hope its an improvement on the mess they've had running for years.
I know they advertised a full time job (for 38k) in December to handle website work as well as marketing and match day preperations, lets hope who got that job has been busy and I look forward to an improved effort.

Exactly, I actually waas "under serious consideration" for the job but when they asked if I was willing to accept 38K I said they'd have to offer a lot more for me to even consider the job.
I would have loved the job but wasn't willing to lose the flexibility in my current job as well as taking a very large drop in pay.

Hopefully it's an improvement, though anything will be compared to the old site.

Wedgie, fair comment not a lot of bucks for what should be an important job - perhaps explains some of the issues with advertising the SANFL - if you want best results you must get the best staff?

Also shows how much the SANFL are willing to spend to promote the league.

The SANFL would proberly say they haven't got the Cash to pay someone to do a decent job on the Website. But i will say that the SANFL website looks better than one local clubs site. recently i have looked at all club site and i would say Westies is the worst site out of all of them. It is a mongel site bitsa this and bitsa that i am not happy with the site to promote our club. Werribee does an excellent effort and they are in the VFL. Wedgie i don't blame you for knocking back the SANFL job go to them on Monday and say you want 180K and a company car and last but not least a bar put into your office htey might do that for you.

Wedgie - just make a takeover bid for the SANFL site - properly run it would make a fortune.

I love the summarised history on this site it goes something like:

The pre-runner to the SANFL started in 1877. It became the SANFL in 1907. It played some games and then they decided to build AAMI stadium!!! It opened in 1974. its a bit more detailed after that.

38k ? Are you serious ?

Not even worth it! If it was my current pay level - I would sign up straight away for an interview :)

yeah Dave is a gun on web design
i say combine Wedgie and Diss and make a decent website

its pretty sad (no offence obviously to the brilliant club sites) that an SANFL official/supporter page is better than the league's!

It was full time, as stated previoustly, it also involved match day arrangements and a degree of marketing.
38k for a full time job with weekend work, if that's your idea of not bad dosh Punky we must be on extremely varying packages at the moment.

Well, no in that case, it's church money. If it's 6 days a week, (or 5, with Sunday off plus a week day), then you need to pay a lot more coin- to get someone good, anyway.
