SANFL Wrap Up In Advertiser

Again the SANFL supporters have suffered at the hands of the Advertiser with what can only be described as an average wrap up prior to the season commencing.
Without picking evrything to bits one stand-out is the Port write up - the "gun Recruit" is listed as Josh Thurgood yet he isnt even named in the clubs best 21!!!!!
Another is that Peter Walsh cant make Westies best 21???!!!

There's always going to be small anomolies like that but I thought on the whole it was pretty good. On a similar topic as she wrote some of the wraps I know they've been grooming Candace Keller as a SANFL journo and I think her stuff certainly isnt the worst Ive read and she might turn out OK.

Agree with Wedgie, there is always going to be a few problems (picked up on the Thurgood one myself), but it is great to see the paper actually devoting time to the comp and not just concentrating on the AFL. Also the poster series is great, mini Hazbeen will be collecting the Port Maggies one to go with his Power one, good to put faces to some of the younger players from each club.

Yeah, i noticed the Thurgood error. Probably noticed more errors in the Messenger write up though.

The Adelaide Advertiser I wouldn't use it to wipe my own Butthole. It goes to show how much Rupert thinks of Australia when he allows trash like that Paper to go to print.

My only complaint is that there was no season fixture.

For the SANFL to get a liftout wholly devoted to it was fantastic and congratulations go to the Tiser for it along with continuing the liftout posters.
I appreciate the effort of the paper to give our competition such a good lead in 2 days before the season starts as well as the poster banner outside shops which advertised the lift out.
There may be a few minor errors but we would be much poorer without it. Well Done Tiser.

Me too mate!
I don't even use cloured toilet paper to clean my crack, the inks and dyes leave an irritating itch! I reckon the Advertiser would just about break me out in a butt hole rash.

As others have expressed I'm more than appreciative that our great comp got some well justified exposure.
Well done to all at the 'tiser, we just want to see more of it (our league gettining its rightfull amount of exposure i.e. back page before the AFL, netball, Rugby and the minor pastimes likes soccer and 'League

Come on you blokes, you have to agree with CD that this is very good coverage for the SANFL.
Well done the Tiser for being interested to do so. Bring on Friday Night!

Not the same as the 70's or 80's, but for the current climate, not a bad effort. (1st paper I've bought since GF week last year)

Also a big thank you to the Tiser for our poster today with our new logo looking great.
Plus great to see a large colour photo of all the league captains on the back page today.
Congratulations to the Tiser for great support of the SANFL this week with the coverage leading into the first round.

A few little mistakes, but I'd rather the press than not.

For those of us not located between Gawler and Seaford the coverage online is bloody awful.
The current top story is:
"GLENELG'S gun rover Matthew Bode is set to make his first appearance in a trial this season against Sturt on Thursday night."

Any exposure is better then none and I dont see this seasons preview as being any better or worse (which would be more than a worry ) than any of the last few years. (IIRC)
A few errors will occur because the journos involved have a bigger interst in the 'big' leagues.Fair enough the problem is, for us (as SANFL fans ) is to make sure the times the 'Tiser does promote the league,we support it,not rubbish it.
I would not be surprised if the editorial department at the Advertiser read these pages, and if so,we should encourage and support their coverage.Failure to do so will result in less popularity in the comp, thus less exposure.

I wonder if The Advertiser would still do the season liftout if the SANFL didn't pay them to do it?
A fair chunk of West End & Mazda sponsorship money to the SANFL is allocated for this exercise.
