Most WAFL clubs have been hard on the recruiting trail once their season ended with the fruits of their labour to show in the next six weeks.
Several clubs have crunched the numbers and approached many players from the SANFL, VFL, from rival WAFL clubs and delisted AFL players.
While some signings have already come to fruition, the WAFL clubs will have to wait till after the National and Pre-Season drafts to see if their targeted players remain to be recruited.
Several of the younger players on the WAFL club hit lists will also be selected in the rookie draft.
East Perth has already signed VFL players Trevor Batchelor and Danny Byrne, along with Craig DeCorsey from Swan Districts.
Clubs have their eye on several SANFL players and an at least one WAFL club could make announcement in the next week on a recruit from that competition.
If WAFL clubs have not signed up interstate players by mid January, there is little liklihood they will attract those players after that time frame.
Therefore, the next six weeks could well determine the improvers and the sliders for the 2006 WAFL season.
