Small article on page 37 of the Tiser today, offers no explanation other than to say he was not part of Port's future and a quote from Tim "We won't be seeing Byron."

If Port isn't going to play him in the league team, then why did they go after and sign him then.

I heard he got payed alot$$$ upfront.
He's now done the bolt & Tim would not be happy, especially after Byron was sought after & signed without Timmy's consent.

Mightyeagles, like i said Timmy new nothing of the approach to Byron, you would think you'd consolt your coach & get his thoughts first.

Money paid upfront and on a NICE house for him - what a waste.
From my mail the club hasnt been given much of an explination either, or at least not one that is worth the dollars invested.

Its a fairly difficult situation, his father becoming ill has really complicated things but couldn't have been foreseen at the start of the year when Byron signed . Sometimes these things happen, as unsettling as it is for the club involved.

That may be true but it is not the first time Port have paid a player upfront only for him to bolt early in the season and for a similar "reason" / excuse.
Having said that North paid Koops up front in 2006 but at least he lasted the year albeit he was injured and unproductive for most of it!

So-Is Byron still on the Magpies list or not? Surely the smart thing for clubs to do if they are going to pay up front ,either $$$'s or "in kind" (eg house/car) would be to have a clause allowing some redress should the player pull the pin. Can't see Byron ever playing SANFL again if he isn't training-his body does not take kindly to physical inactivity

Reading the EP thread in the regional section a bit of paper resembling a clearance form was submitted to the Port Lincoln Football league office on Friday with a B.Pickett scrawled on it. so it seems that he could be lining up for Mallee Park on Saturday

Is that true or just what you heard? That's amazing if it's the case. Paying big dollars to a player the coach doesn't want seems strange to me.

Pickett will line up for Mallee Park in Port Lincoln.
Has been spotted around town living it up and is not interested in training but will have a kick on Saturdays.
Could Harry Miller join him? Just a whisper from the west coast.

judging by some of the abuse hurled at him yesterday some Port fans are willing to take up a collection to pack his bags........

Exactly.
Sadly, you could see this coming with Byron all off season.

Harry Miller is not enjoying beeing jeered by the Port Adelaide followers over the last 3 weeks and is seriosly considering returning home. Heater 31 you are right.
The club wont get any money back, the deal was done when Pickett still had his manager and the PAMFC got shafted!

I don't like Port but that's disappointing for them and the comp as a whole, obviously he wasn't committed from the outset so maybe it's for the better, don't want to see a bloke running around cleaning up players just for the sake of it.
What I want to know is WHO SPAT THE DUMMY??

PORT or BYRON

Hmmm, alot of accusers and rumour mongers have gone quiet and still with this coming out they're all like little church mice. Glad to see your Mum's have found your pacifiers.

It was a monumental mistake by the PAMFC. Did they not do a background checK?
