Sturt Football Club Members Release
Issued: Thursday, April 13th, 2006

Dear Member

The Club is pleased to announce today the signing of Craig Taylor from the Port Adelaide Magpies.

Craig is a 19 year old on-baller 183 cm and 82 kgs. He was a State Under 18 player in 2004 and played 5 league games in 2005.

Craig is a right footer with good skills who finds the ball well.

The Football Committee is certainly looking for Craig to be a long term contributor to the senior playing group.

Very dissapointing. I had big things marked for him at the Magpies and I thought of him exceptionally highly.

Yes he is a player that could come into the league side straight away. Still has some faults but I believe he is someone that could play 150 SANFL games at a pretty high level.

Very smooth mover, can play inside and uses the ball well. His style of play reminds me of Nick Dal Santo.

I thought he'd play almost every game this year. Obviously he thinks with a few of our recruits that he won't get the opportunity to develop as a senior player. Was unlucky not to be drafted two seasons ago and apparently was being looked at for a rookie spot at a few AFL clubs last season.

I wish him all the best for the future and look forward to seeing him forge a succesful SANFL career with the Blues.

Thankyou for that Macca19 that sounds very promising. Just on a lighter side I believe Jeremy Clayton too, will find it hard to sustain his spot for the Maggies, he is unbalancing the side. A simple switch down Unley way I think would benefit all parties

thats the risk when you recruit for instant success, you may lose quality kids who always dreamed about playing for their club

Big Damien 'Sticks' Ryan as well. Julians brother Darren Burton. Now Shaun Childs, Mitch Andrews and Craig Taylor this year have headed over.

Talk about propping you guys up!! Cant you find your own players?
