Some great news there jimmy, nice to see a bit more recruiting this year from the last.
All of them sound quite good, especially O'Keefe considering he will have some finals experience with Sandringham... let's hope it's needed this year ay?

Great news Jimmy! Good work for bringing it!
I would be fantastic if Begley decides to stick around. A player of his calibre would add alot to the Sturt team, help haul us back where we belong and keep us there for a while to come.
Good signs for the coming year! Go You Mighty Blues!

Too right!
It would do a world of good for his confidence if he can come back and play for us without getting injured, an uninjured Begley was always dangerous and helpful downback... fingures crossed he'll give it a go.

As reported on db.org and sturtfc.com.au the Cremorne has withdrawn its objection to the club's pokie barn on Unley Rd. Which is good news for the club and the SANFL - if pokies have to be the saviour for our club(s) let's hope we can make the most of it I guess. Can't say I'd be going there very often however....

Yeah, it is good to see we have picked up a few recruits. Christ knows, we're going to need them.

I am hearing stories about Chris Oliver returning to Victoria.
Is this true?

Excellent news that the Cremorne has pulled their objection away, is it plain sailing now or does the club have to satisfy any other needs?
Also been meaning to ask where the proposed site is, is it that old building on the southern side of Unley Rd with the For Lease signs?

Used to be the post office, I think it has been the Red Cross for the past couple of years?

Going to be a very interesting place to convert to a pokies parlour then!
Unlike other clubs which used old Sizzlers, etc.
Still if done right it could be very classy, the building needs a lot of work (on the outside) if its the one I"m talking about

he didnt do enough, had the potential but just did not stamp his influence on a game
maybe he did not get enough chances as most games he played as the second ruckman behind Simon Feast
he would have played about 40 games

I reckon he was the number 1 ruckman at the start but we always looked better with Feasty in the ruck, hence the turnaround. Pity really as Feasty isn't getting any younger, but good luck to him back in Vic.
Guess he performed for us like he did when he got drafted top 5 years ago, didn't really fulfill his potential.

I never had a lot of time for Simon Feast as he's been a bit of a dirty prick at times but as an opposition ruckman I would have much rather taken on Oliver as he was less prone to hurt you physically like Feast does and I mean that as a compliment to Feast as that's a big part of rucking being intimidatory (christ is that even a word?) and hurting your opponent physcially.
