any truth in the story doing the round today that the James boys playing for Kersbrook had a lot to do with them kicking 80 goals.?

Is it just me... or is anyone else a little surprised roger James kicked 23 goals today? I would've thought the bloke has achieved enough at AFL level he wouldn't need to stand at full forward and kick goals all day. I would've let some young bloke have the thrill of his life by kicking his first bag of 10 or let a full back have a go? I could be wrong, maybe he had them all by 1/4 time??, but did seem odd to me.

Think it's just the nature of the James boys mate, they are real country lads who love their footy .. Personally I would have thought it was fantastic that they were putting something back into grassroots footy?

I agree... but kicking 23 goals against a side which can hardly field a team? :?
I just found it unusual.. I might be the only one. That's ok.

As I posted in the Hills Country thread, that is a record score in South Australia. In 1996, Victor Harbor kicked 72.35 (467) against arguably the most famous footy club in the country at the time, Port Elliot.

As long as he can do 16 in the beep test and run the 100 in under 11, he'll be right. ;)

Callington formed in 1995, and I actually played there from their very first match until around 2001. Very, very sad to see a club that formed from nothing and had never forfeited a game at senior level, be on the wrong end of records such as this.
Simon Lambe, the goalkicker, was a very promising junior that I coached at the club. The club was also the original junior club of the late Jake Watson, with his father Larry being a senior coach also at the club.

That's insane, pity they didn't kick anothe goal to make it over 500 points!
I played in a side that won games 20 goals to 1 and lost games to 20 goals to 1 but I just couldn't imagine being in a match where its 80 goals to 1, surely they had a few less players??

Quick, can someone get S. Lambe's address ?
Somebody has to buy that boy a beer !
As long as they're not black & white, I'm gunna follow Callington in that league.
In the long run, ya' just can't lose when the only way is up !!!
