I'll post it on here, as more people are likely to see it here, but one of Eckys' avatars' has the final score from Glenelgs' 49.23 game! I've just come up with a thought - does anyone know who the scoreboard attendant from that is, and if possible know what he is doing know? This question maybe a long shot, but who knows, someone on here might know who he is...

Poor bloke, probably didn't know whether to laugh or cry!
I hope his RSI is recovering well.

I hope the full message on the scoreboard didn't read "Spectators Not Permitted to photograph scoreboard attendant and display on websites even though they haven't been invented yet"

My uncle played for Central for a few years leading up to that and early on in that year and then gave it awy due to injuries about a month or so before that game. Probably the best decision he ever made. Not a game you would want to be involved in from a Bulldog point of view.

I always found it mildly interesting that Glenelg scored the square root of 49 against Norwood in the Grand Final

Wonderful effort by Norwood to restrict Glenelg to just 7 goals.

Probably beyond the statute of limitations, so i can blab now.
When the Bays had the re-enactment of Snout's 50th shot at goal last year, an elderly Doggies fan rang the Bays and vigorously complained. Apparently he was 100% dinkum, his complaint was that he was at the game 30 years before, and basically had post traumatic stress for years after!
He was planing to get to the game at the bay, but the re-enactment would upset him again, and he wanted the club to cancel the celebrations!

I'm sure 4 flags wouldn't have made him care so much. But I could be wrong.

Mate a lot of us had post traumatic stress after that one. Now years of professional care and 5 premierships have allowed me to recover. Only to be retraumatised by that photo. For the record it should have been 50 goals but a Centrals player started shaking the post out of frustration and the last shot at goal just happend to hit the post as it wobbled inwards. God has a sense of humour.
