Call to Arms for Moderators

Postby Wedgie » Thu Oct 27, 2005 7:47 pm

Anyone want to do it?
Out of the current members list I'm going to add Jimmy, Constance Perm, red and black, dragonfly, REB and Booney, if any of you guys object pm me and I'll take you off.
If anyone is interested let me know either here or by pm or email.
The more the merrier, the plan is to get at least 1 person from each fan base.
We'll work out some rules soon, as far as auto censoring I'm only putting the f and c words in the database for the time being, I think thats a fair start.

In my email to CA today I also gave the footysa lads an open ended invitation if they wanted to be moderators in here.
CA politely declined which I fully understand with what he's been through recently.

Thanks for the invitation Wedgie and I will be happy to be a part of the moderation group, however,I will be interested to see how you go about this having never been involved in anything like this before. So,to start off with my role will be fairly small, and I will need some promptng and reminding, even some direction at times.
The rules we outline I feel should be fairly loose, nothing too restrictive, saying that though,no body on here would enjoy feeling the wrath of a wealthy individuals legal team.I guess we will discuss this more on the moderators forum.Cheers.

Thanks for the nomination Wedgie but I don't have the time to do the job justice. Also I've got no machine at home at the mo so that would leave a fair gap for a dodgy post to gestate.

Good luck in finding the mods you need.

I don't mind helping, Wedgie, but I haven't done this sort of thing before, so I'll need some instruction. I'll only be able to do it generally in working hours!

Cheers Wedgie.

Like REB, I am not online at home so cannot help in non-business hours. And I need to be a bit careful about how much time I spend looking at this stuff during business hours....but am happy to be part of the moderating group.

1997. We are called the Redlegs. Our home is Norwood Oval. Our new coach is Trevor Hill. We've won 16 more than your lot.

Honestly, you've got to tell these Strut supporters everything

Thanks for the offer Diss, I've put you up as a moderator.
For those who are concerned about only getting on during work hours, that's fine with me as I'm not on during work hourse and am on most of the time outside of that (yes I don't sleep) so it will fit in beautifully.
We'll have some discussin in the moderators forum about how best to run this site, that's mainly what I'm currently looking from mods, a bit of guidance on how you guys think this website should be run, Im quite happy to look after the technical things only.
In regard to any legal situations, moderators are no way implicated or a chance of being involved in any law suits (unless they make the post!).
Thanks for the help guys, muchly appreciated! :D

Well its official, we now have representation of at least 1 fan of each SANFL club up as a moderator, thanks to everyone who took on the job and are providing support, its appreciated. :)

And to a lot of my friends on this website who I would trust with the job but haven't asked as bragged above I was really keen on this site to get as close to possible equal representation from fans of all clubs but I know there's a hell of a lot of people who have registered (if not all) so far who could have (and may yet still) do just as good as job as the one's I've given the job.
