Top 4 stands out like dogs/eagles/magpies/cocks balls

I thought it before the season and from what ive seen these are the best 4 teams in the comp comfortably with the Eagles the only non premiership threat.

I reckon South have the cattle to be 5th but I think Norwood will snare it just ahead of the bays who have very similar quality cattle to Norwood if not slightly better.

Thoughts?

Reba says you're correct except for doubting the Eagles.

Top 4 stand outs

Have to disagree.

Port and the Roosters to finish 1-2.

Anyone of five other clubs i.e. Glenelg, Eagles, Norwood, South and the Bulldogs can occupy the other 3 positions in the 5.

Sturt won't make the 5, however, as in other years from other teams will influence who actually makes the 5.

Our next 3 games against Glenelg, Central and Norwood are crucial to our opposition.

BEWARE A Wounded Double Blue Team.

My son and I were talking about the five after the game at Richmond yesterday, we both came to the conclusion that it doesnt make much difference if you finish second or third in the SANFL both amount to finishing in the same spot .
So to me at present the teams that have beaten the Eagles (games that I have witnessed with a doggies game thrown in) North and Bays look way more impressive than Port did .
But saying that after this weeks round Port over the bays and South all over the doggies and of course North all over Norwood Top 3 spots could be up for grabs and none would be written in Concrete just yet .

The top four stand out like that?

Had a look at the ladder lately?

The Bays have comfortably beaten two of those teams, and comfortably lost to the other two.

Next two matches are very winnable, against $trut and Norwood @ the Bay.

Will it still be glaringly obvious still?

Gotta agree with you Aerie. Shouldn't be doubting the Eags. Just starting to hit our straps and still several players yet to return from injury, would be expecting yet another top 3 finish for the Eags.

I don't think the top 3 or 4 or the final 5 for that matter is anywhere near looking settled at this stage of the season as evident by some recent results. Barring West Adelaide any of the other sides could make the final 5 - even Sturt!

Judging by the reaction to some of Sturts Power listed players who are struggling at the moment - they could get back Thurstans, Chaplin and Bishop for a few games which will add some strength, experience and height to their team and that will surely equate to some much more competitive performances over the remainder of the season. There are still 15 rounds to play!

South is looking dangerous as evident from their big win over the dogs but the cynics will expect that they will have their usual fade-out but I'm not so sure this year I think they are very dangerous all over the ground and should make the 5.

The Eagles are starting to look very dangerous with a settled side although there seems to be a revolving door of midfielders up and down to the Crows but in any case it has a very strong midfield feeding off Lindsay and with Colville still to come back. Their defence looks stronger with Frewin back and Inkster and Passador are a strong fwd combination although I think not having a strong CHF could hurt them.

Glenelg and Norwood as per their results and competitive improvement this year are serious finals contenders.

Centrals - minor 'hiccup' on Sat. and you just cannot write them off - look at last year!

North and Port - will make the 5 and "should" finish top 3 but anything can happen although North are winning whilst considerably "under strength" which has been a revelation to some of us Rooster fans and has proved we have increased our depth. Port are Port and doesn't that just shit the rest of us!

Get out of your dreamworld the Dogs are a premiership contender Glenelg and Norwood are not. I can't believe some Glenelg supporters are still placing so much weight on that result a month ago.

We will wait and see what happens. I said from the start that these 4 teams are the best and I maintain it.

I think our Drebin may have meant Danyle Pearce.

He definitely need a run at the Bay to regain his lost confidence

Thanks - I thought it was Sturt he played for? Just what South need then - another big backman! Mind you they will lose Torney to the Crows to cover Hart's injury.

Sturt could get Perace then to add to Thurstans and Chapin!

Sorry dasher, but I still think positions 1-8 are up for grabs, I would think that the 4 you mentioned should all feature come finals time, but it's too early to be sure.

Port and North in my mind are certainties. So id say its only 3 - 8 that are up for grabs.

Dogs will be battling to make the FIVE at this stage.

As I have said before.

West and Sturt are already gone.

It will be interesting to see the table about 4 weeks after the state game as I think it will start to shape the 4 and anyones guess for 5th.

Maybe the family that honks the loudest horn at Noarlunga and makes the biggest plate for the canteen can sell the family raffle tickets with first prize a spot in the 5.

No u didnt mention a premiership. I was using it to make my point that Glenelg will not Finish above the Dogs and Eagles. Glenelgs form so far suggests they are right in the hunt for a finals birth. I jnust get annoyed when people say the dogs are gone. O Sullivan, Wilson, Thomas and Westhoff can all play and wernt there last year. They are a genuine premiership threat. They have the best marking full forward in the comp and the best centre half forward.
