SANFL Footy on ABC Digital Dumped?

Living in another state I am keen to see some SANFL footy. I have heard that SANFL replays from the match of the round from the previous week are shown on ABC2 Digital. In the past few months I have bought The Australian newspaper and have seen in their TV guide section that the replay on ABC2 Digital is on Friday nights and Tuesday nights I think. Two weeks ago I was about to go out and buy a SD Top Box so I could see the match but I thought I'd go out and consult the TV guide in The Australian over the exact time the match would be on. To my shock for that week no SANFL replay was listed despite both the WAFL and VFL getting coverage. Does anyone know why this was? Anyway, thinking that this must be a printing error or even a once off, I held off my purchase waiting for the TV guide this week. Looking at the week ahead, no SANFL, VFL or WAFL footy is being televised, not even the state game.

Does anyone know what the situation is with ABC digital? I want to be sure that the SANFL games are on before I go out and buy my digital top box.

Mr Fuller - in relation to the SANFL being dumped from the ABC2 coverage on Tuesday & Friday nights, I can assure you that this is NOT the case. If you go to the ABC site (http://www.abc.net.au) & then click on the TV guide for ABC2, it will give you the games that are being played for the next few weeks. The games to be telecast at 11.00pm in the next few weeks are SANFL v WAFL (30/5/06 & 2/6/06), Central Districts v Norwood (6/6/06 & 9/6/06 & Eagles v South Adelaide (13/6/06 & 16/6/06). This site is far more reliable than newspaper tv guides - like you I live interstate (Sydney, NSW), & this is the only SANFL coverage I can get (even though it is late at night!!). Come Saturday afternoons, I log onto my football team's (http://www.nafc.com.au), website to go the online scoreboard as well as listen to the radio (when there is streaming available) to find out THE MIGHTY ROOSTERS are going!!

Hope this clears it up for you.

Has anybody else noticed this?

When ABC2 replays the footy, that the picture isn't always that good? The games look fine on the ABC's standard telecasts on Saturdays, but look a little crap with the replays. :?

I find that if I run a program in digital it is better quality.

My ABC2 on Foxtel is pixilated but my ABC2 through my digital receiver in my computer is picture perfect.

That computer wouldn't happen to have a DVD burner, would it?

If it does, could you burn a copy of the SA vs. WA match to DVD?

I tried last night on my DVD Recorder from a stand-alone STB but it still ended up pixellating.

Same here, worse quality thru the foxtel, but the digital set top box ok. Watched a bit last night on ABC2 via the foxtel, as it is a half hour ahead of the digital box ABC2.

My ABC-2 looks crap through both Foxtel and separate STB.

I think I'll be buying the VHS tape from the ABC and then copying it to DVD.
