I note that this year the Magarey Medal will be on the Thursday before the Grand Final and once again is being telecast by Channel 9.
I can only assume that C9 were looking for a program to fill the 9.30pm slot the week after the Footy Show finishes and the SANFL perhaps wanted to move it to help build up GF week.
Another very interesting innovation is that fans can go this year.
I'm jumping at the opportunity to go but am in 2 minds as if to such a prestigious event should be open up to the public even if its a limited amount.
Looking forward to getting some great snaps that night!

I wouldn't have minded going, no doubt it would be a formal wear thing and not many of your average fans would go anyway because they'd have better things to do with their $100.

And Channel 9 will no doubt try and squeeze in as much as they can in an hour.

I think it's too close to the GF - should have still had it on Monday or Tuesday.

This will be the latest ever Magarey Medal count - in 1989 it was on the 2nd of October.

It is worth every cent I went when Paul Thomas won - Josh Richardson got out to an early lead and his team mates were givin it to him for pinchin votes off Whiteman it was pure gold.

Every one has a great time especially the golden oldies. Remember speakin to Don Lindner for about half an hour after the count it was great to chat to someone who would never usually talk fooy with.

To be there to hear the ooohs and aaahs is awesome !!!!!
