SANFL Draftees in order

Ok, So Trengove goes 1 from SA, then who??

Challenge is to come up with the Top 10 from SA or atleast share some insight to those most likely at your club.

James Craig from North was supposedly as good a ruckman as anyone else at the 18s National Carnival
Tapscott from North has played some League Footy this year and College with PAC
Silverlock at West played league footy this year
Alex Wilson from Sturt won MVP for the competition for the year
Dowd/Bowd or something from South won the medal

Glenelg & Port played in 18s GF, who are their best prospects?
Where will the mature age players - Dutschke CD, Coad ST etc. fit in?
Any 19-21 y.o smokeys at your club?

Byron Summner from Eagles is a gun. He might sneak in as the 9th or 10th SA player to get drafted.

From south Peter Rolfe may be a shot along with Boyd.
Young Keegan Brooksby who has only played aussie rules for a couple of years may get a rookie spot, and Luke Bowd who won the under 18s medal may be a chance too.
As for smokies Coad and Dutshke would have to be a chance, and althogh Coad is maybe a bit old,he would have to be one of the few who I think could make the transition without a problem at all!!

Bollenhagen will go before Boyd.
Boyd had a sh!t year and his bum is still as close to the ground as it was last year.

Alex Carey 2nd or 3rd round

From the above list, Lycett and Milera are too young to be drafted.

I would think from Port Derek Wanganeen would be a good chance, and there would be some interest in Dean Dudley, Matt Rose and Justin Hoskin.

From what i saw of Glenelg Alex Carey and Nick Cane should be drafted amd Giddings and Pitt also a good chances.

Sumner from the Eagles will definately go, and i agree that Craig and Tapscott from North are certain to get drafted.

From South, Peter Rolfe a very good chance followed by Bollenhagen.
Bowd and Veide as possible smokies

From Central, Daniel Menzel is a definate, then possibly Brayden O'Hara, Scott Dutschke and Lee Spurr as mature age recruits.

Young lad named Josh Vator may be a smokey as well I reckon, like the way he plays.

What about Jono Beech from Westies?
Had a great second half of the year with the Bloods.
Any chance?

Yes, Jack is a chance as well, but not sure if he will get picked up, maybe a rookie spot ?

If he has put his name down for it, then yes he is a chance.

From the Bay: I believe Warrick McGinty, Alex Carey and Craig Pitt could be considered for top 10 SANFL picks. Andrew Bradley is unikely to, only because he didn't make the U18s state squad, and so may not have the high profile of the other draftees. However his overall season (B&F) and great finals matches show he should be, and may have caught the attention of some scouts.

Daniel Kirk is an experienced league campaigner so lower clubs looking for a player not needing time for development, may take a punt. Shannon Snook is also a smokey.

Mathew Panos from Norwood would be a certainty. a possible first round pick. The others from Norwood like Mark Evans and Roland Archee would be rookie list chances if anything.

Well there are 38 likely SANFL draftees if you go by invites to draft camp/screenings. Highly unlikely anyone will come from outside that lot.

Each AFL club has different needs and the focus these days is definately on the younger players but some clubs like Melbourne and even Carlton have a young list and as much as the future is in the youth one must draw the line somewhere!
A seasoned SANFL player like Michael Coad who has pretty decent skills and and is physically up to AFL level should come under strong consideration!
Jay Shulz has gone to the power and In my probably worthless opinion is no where near as versatile and good as Coad!
I can bet there will be a few more mature blokes from the SANFL finding themselves a spot on either an AFL teams main list or rookie list!

Doesn't know what he's talking about. If he was crap he wouldn't have gone up the League/Reserves squad. I've seen him play a lot and sure he has had a couple bad games, but who hasn't.
