WWTFC publication - what happened?

I remember about 6-7 years ago some Advertiser journalist (forgot his name) was writing a book on the history of the Woodville-West Torrens Footy club and was going to release a limited number for purchase. What became of that idea? I know he had started along the path but did not hear whether he actually went through with it
CD or other eagles fans - do you know what the outcomes were?

Peter Cornwall I think - same guy who did the Pride of the Bay. I've still heard things about it this year too, but when it gets published I don't know.

History of the Woodville-West Torrens Footy club
That would have a " limited " number of pages ?

Was it David Burtenshaw you are thinking of Mr F?
IIRC he was doing something but then left his job at the Tiser and took up a position with a country or interstate paper as an editor or manager, he then returned to Adelaide and ended up at the Crows. Since then there have been the books about Torrens and Woodville days but nothing about 1991 onwards that I am aware of.

I'm sure this book is (or was) meant to be like Pride of the Bay - chapters rather than numbers, Columbo.

Does anyone know if there is a definitive book on the SANFL ?

Yes you are correct Spell_Check. It was meant to be like the Pride of the Bay and I believe it was Burtenshaw was the person writing it. Hopefully someone can clarify whether this project is still in the works or whether the idea has been canned.
Would be good to hear and read about some of the players in the early days of the club. Some of my favourites were Robbie Lynch, Simon Neave, Robert Trkula.

More I think about it, Cornwall was supposed to be co-authors with Burtenshaw.

David Burtenshaw & Peter Cornwall have nearly completed "The Best Of Both Worlds" and it is intended to be launched early in the 2010 season.
The book will have individual historical sections on West Torrens, Woodville and the merged club.
Probably have about 400 pages and 600 pictures.
It will be a quality book as you'd expect from the author of Pound For Pound and Pride Of The Bay - 2 of the best SA footy books ever written.

Closest thing to that would be
The South Australian Football Story by Bernard Whimpress.
Published in 1983.

Along with
Poms to Premiers, released last year by Robert Laidlaw and Robin Mulholland on the history of the CDFC

Has been nearly finished for quite awhile now according to David Burtenshaw. Was an issue with the board about a year or two ago but with new blood on the board now, I would expect to see some action soon. CD can you verify please?
