South double previous record margin V Port but......

Postby - » Sun Jun 25, 2006 6:52 pm

Souths previous record winning margin against port b4 today was 51 points in 1939. Port went on to win the flag that year. What is in store this year?

Historically 2day was a massive result. One of the most underachieving clubs South Adelaide( Footscray, St Kilda.) have demolished Australias greatest football club by more than double what they have ever beaten them by. Statistically unbelievable! Its sad for South Adelaide that they have hardly any supporters left to appreciate the the significance of this event.

The car experiment worked a treat however if u wernt there by midday u missed out.

Personally I had a great day (thanks to the turning of a blind eye of security and the motherly prowess of Mrs Reba).

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?

Not a patron of the match, but I hope this will attract lots of long time closet South fans, as finally this team might be going somewhere. They play a great brand of footy and they need to deliver to at least the long suffering loyal fans who do go to as many South games as possible!

Good luck to them for the rest of the season.

While I hope the cars around the oval venture is a success, personally I'm not a great fan of it at all. If south wants more supporters at noarlunga, more members and support there is really only one road to go down.
Produce todays effort on a more consistent basis and win more games. It is very easy to attract support if you have a winning and successful culture. That is something that the South Adelaide Football Club does not possess.Unless the club can become a consistent finals participant it will always be an underachiever in the popularity stakes. Longtime supporters like me will always be about the place but the club really needs success to expand its supporter base.
