Would be interested if someone knew whether McCabe was DCM'ed at Hawthorn due to age/injuries/partly himself. Know he might not have fitted in with their youth policy but I felt he had another couple of years of AFL in him. Once again though, not the place to be in a rebuilding club when you are in your late 20's.
Will stand corrected but didn't he finish 2nd in the Hawk's B&F in 2001 when they were a bee's doodle away from playing in the Grand Final.
Chad Davis doesn't seem to be a favourite of the magpie faithful. Perhaps he only got the gig at St Kilda because of who his father was.

Here's a challenge for you, Spelly - somewhat of the opposite of this section...
How many players who have ever been on the Crows or Port lists have NEVER played in the SANFL?

I'll see what I can find.

One I can think of straight away is Wayne Carey, as he only played Reserves with North Adelaide in 1987.

Yeah, the only two that came to mind straight away to me were Carey and Tom Redden (Glenelg reserves). The most obvious candates are players who were recruited here after they had established themselves in the AFL.

1) going by what he said earlier about Carey then it wouldnt count Perrie in the list but...
2) Perrie has played quite a bit of SANFL before this season

For a stab in the dark, I'd say
Jake Lynch
Scott Matthews
Nick Laidlaw

Because I must have overlooked him, thanks for that.
Ian Perrie and Matthew Bishop can also be added to the list, now it stands at 83.

Good work spellie but should someone like Ian Perrie and Matty Clarke be in a different category as they got picked up by their current SANFL clubs by agreement and no drafts as such?

I guess Perrie could be in that category, but I was alluding to the fact that Clarke played SANFL before AFL and therefore a "Local" product.
Perrie came from Interstate, didn't he?

South, we were just talking on the Roost this week about how Hargs spent most of the day on Perrie in 2002 when he kicked 13 goals against South at Adelaide Oval!

That's where I thought he came from.

Should start another section titled 'Players that were on AFL lists but didnt play a match'
Which would include Jarjoura, Kirkby, Mcglone, Archibald and im sure some others
