I think I have memories of him calling on the radio when I was a kid. Is this right or am I thinking of someone else?

Depends how old you are AH, did they have radios in them days. ;)

he did call footy on the radio, not sure when but I can remember him as well, not a bad umpire.
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting

I think that you might be getting Baldy Henderson mixed up with Baldy Lees. Both were umpires from the 1950s and 1960s. I don't ever remember Baldy Henderson calling on the radio, Baldy Lees did, but Henderson used to write for the Sunday Mail.

He was a great man, loved and respected by all I came across. Was a state umpire back when State of Origin was at its peak, as well as a long time SANFL umpire.

Was a great family man who I can not speak a bad word about, he will be sorely missed.

RIP
