From the Advertiser:
CLAYTON LIFTS PIES
Port Adelaide Magpies coach Tim Ginever could be forgiven for casting aside his "nice guy" demeanour in preparation for Sunday's battle with Norwood at Alberton Oval.
Ginever is a proud Port Adelaide man, who bled for the Magpies in an illustrious career. He will not accept a repeat performance of Sunday's pathetic 107-point loss to South Adelaide.
It was an embarrassing day for the club and Ginever questioned whether some players were giving enough thought for the jumper when they took the field.
Immediately after the loss he was adamant, however, that the Magpies would put their season back on track against the Redlegs after three successive losses.
Ginever said he had encountered hefty losses as a player and the club more often than not bounced back the next week with victory.
But that will only happen if more players are prepared to raise a sweat and have a fair-dinkum crack.
The Magpies will front with a superior outfit this week with the return of Magarey Medallist Jeremy Clayton, who missed last week's debacle with a knee problem. Key forward Clive Waterhouse also comes into the line-up after being sidelined with an ankle injury.
Roc Harry has been named in a squad of 22, while Kyle Jenner (soreness) could not be considered and Tim Looby was omitted.
Norwood has included defender Brett Zorzi and Robbie deJongh to its squad of 23. The Redlegs will drive down Port Rd confident of success, having beaten Sturt in a testing battle before losing to in-form Woodville-West Torrens by 21 points.
The past two weeks have been a positive response to the insipid 78-point defeat at the hands of Glenelg which threatened to derail Norwood's season.
Incredibly, the Magpies, tagged premiership favourites just a month ago, could drop out of the top five if they lose, South Adelaide accounts for Sturt and Glenelg knocks over North Adelaide.
In fact, Norwood would draw level on premiership points, although the Magpies would have played one less game.
