Looking ahead to Rd 14

Never thought I'd say this but one of the games of the season and an absolute blockbuster next week is going to be North v South!

correct wedgie. I am looking forward to watching a vital game for our club. A win would show that South are the real deal, a loss not the end of the world but a sizable setback after being on a roll for a while.
For me it will provide a welcome change - walking to the venue rather than a 45 minute drive to a windswept, bleak outpost in the southern suburbs. Mind you the drive home has been rather enjoyable of late.

I'm a bit worried about that game, South are playing bloody good footy at the moment, unlike their usual cold weather form slump, and like the Bays (before today) in recent years, they have caused a bit of damage when they have played at Prospect.
North are going to have to be at their very best to have any chance in that game.

There's no reason we shouldn't be worried Ian, IMHO South are the form side of the comp at the minute and they've won at Prospect last year and the year before with both games being very convincing wins to the Panthers and I like most rate the South side much better this year.

What an absolute shame this game won't be on TV!

It'll be on LifeFM though for our I/S and O/S fans.

Weirdly enough all 4 SANFL games will be on next Saturday but ours is the only starting at the traditional 2.20pm time!

(Central v Eagles 2.15 West v Norwood 11.45 Sturt v Port 2.40)

Who would have thought at the start of the year this was going to be the match of the round?

After seeing South today demolish Sturt at Noarlunga I think they are in for a good crack at the roosters.
If North think South are going to be easy beats they have another thing coming.
Huge game for South as I believe beating North this Saturday will give South the confidence for finals footy.

Bloody hell they were awesome against Sturt today and if they play like they did today will surely come out with a win!!

Jump on the bandwagon and roll down to rooster land on Saturday to support the boys!!!

mmm interesting observations southee.
firstly at the start of the year who would have thought we would still be "in the mix" at rd 14. given our efforts in the past few years we usually have imploded by now.
While our effort today was great, i think we should all take a deep breath and possibly question the quality/ experience of the opposition today.
Having presented a few rational logical statements ,I hope pluck the roosters good and proper next saturday.

hey wouldnt it be great if nafc agreed to play the "panther growl "and the "rooster cock a doodle doo "during the match!!!! that should drive us all to insanity, especially if its a high scoring encounter!!!!!!!!!!!!

Using that logic you guys would have won a few premierships in the last 40 years!

PS Blueandwhite, I see you live in Prossie, do you have son at Auskick? The reason I ask is my son wants to swap his Panthers Auskick footy for a North one! You can't have the sticker though as he's already put that on his door (I can accept a Panthers sticker on his door but most other clubs would have to have the door burnt, he he )

PPS Make sure you come say gudday at the "Grenville Dietrich Grandstand" just next to the Taj Mahal at Prossie next week. :D

North V South @ Prospect

Rd 9 2005 Sth 22.17 ( 149 ) d Nth 14.7 ( 91 )

Rd 23 2004 Sth 17.16 ( 118 ) d Nth 14.8 ( 92)

Rd 16 2003 Sth 23.17 ( 155 ) d Nth 7.5 ( 47 )

IIRC, 2002 North went down in the dying moments of the game, and Hart went off his nut at the players in front of the stands. (language was worse than all the cheer squads put together)

Blueandwhite,
Thats what I meant. Im not getting too excited (very hard to contain myself after the last few weeks!) but I can sense some real confidence in the side and belief.
I think the cars have helped create a real good environment for the team as it has made the atmosphere down at Noarlunga so much better for supporters and players. i took 3 Sturt mates to the game at Noarlunga today and they were impressed today then previously outings at Noarlunga.
I cant stop smiling as so many times i have driven with them in the back seat giving me s**t all the way home and today it was great as it was my turn!!! :P
Not too excited yet but a win against North.....gees mate it will be hard not to be.

....the ol' history argument.... lets drag that ol' chestnut out again, its what everyone resorts to when discussing safc. Well I can tell you that the current playing group doesnt really give a flying f--- about the clubs undoubted history of underachievement. They are only focused on their next match.
mmmm....7 years since you beat a historically indemic underachieving side at fortress prospect..... :?:

southee its ok.. I too am finding it difficult as success is something we are not used to...! It has been sweet in the last 2 wks against 2 sides that historically have given us some fearful thrashings. Congratulations on dragging the sturt supporters to the game that must have provided you with some wonderful ammunition, and a great day as well.
next week will be the real test though....

Yes it was great to get them along.

Also fantastic to see Ryan Fitzgerald there as well. Good to see him getting out there to support the guys.
