No different this week to any other week this season... one shockingly horrid performance after another... a few blips of half decent football here and there, but overall a bloody poor season beyond belief.
Port played a straight forward, no frills game plan with humble determination, while Sturt once again finessed and mucked about and I'd have to say, would struggle to name 3-4 players who even played average, in general the whole team was rubbish.
Easily the worst performance of the season...
What's ridiculous is that Glenelg will probably beat West next week, giving Sturt another crack at a finals spot... do they deserve it, nope, definitely not worthy of a finals spot based on what I've seen today.

well i went there today expecting to see two desperate teams & with sturt trying to get into the 5 would be as desperate as any team could be & they were desperate however port were more desperate especially at the contested ball & sturt as usual were very ordinary in the wintery conditions & while their season isn't quite over i doubt they really deserve to make the finals, i thought harder, dolling, milera & weetra played well for port & for sturt i thought giles battled well as did martin, sheedy, thurstans & vassall....i noticed crane running around in the 2's so he should come back next week which will help & i think port can test wwt next week & i'm sure luke powell & mark mckenzie were impressed with how they saw port play today

It must be your birthday, you're being very generous... I didn't think Sturt were desperate at all, at times their lack of effort and hunger for the ball was appalling.

Great win. Tony's mosquito fleet running the Blues off their feet.
The Magpies are only a KPP away from heading back to September action. Looking forward to 2011 as Bamford has the boys playing how he wants in a style that suits our squad.

pathetic performance from sturt, a side that is desperate to make the finals puts up a very average performance. good work to the magpies, you played well and deserved the victory.

Luke Norman from Adelaidenow.com.au wrote:
''I think the players are too far ahead of themselves,'' Norman said.
''They are frontrunners .... thought they were coming here for an easy game and at the end of the day they will be in the (top) five and everything would take care of itself.
''What they have to realise is there is a lot of hard work which needs to be done - I'm devastated.''
In all seriousness, fair enough to think it and then say it behind closed doors but to go publically??? Not sure that the modern gen y athlete really responds to that. Sounds good for the fans but the playing group??

Good to see the Maggies and the Power look like keeping the no spoon record going.

Sensational 4 qtr performance by Bamfords boys today
The complete 4 qtr effort
Would have beaten just about all SANFL clubs on that display
I just hope this thread does not fizzle into a ST were this and that
It was more to do with PA being a better team on the day
It could have been worse but for Toby Thurstans playing almost a lone hand for ST today

Even modern Gen Y, manscaping metrosexuals can benefit from a good bullocking from the coach every now and then.
Maybe Norman needs to get up a ladder and blast the players like Blighty used to.
