Three weeks to determine the destiny of my beloved Bays (II)

Postby am Bays » Sat Jul 08, 2006 8:29 pm

Dare I say it the next three weeks will determine if Glenelg are contenders or pretenders for 2006

In a nutshell we got found out against the Eagles, Centrals and Norf!!

The bye has come at an opportune time to give a few blokes a spell, get some players back from the U/18 carnival and get blokes back from injuries. The next three games (South, West, Port - all at home) are all winable and dare I say we must win two out three to have any chance of making the finals especially the game agaisnt South.

So Boys, who are going to see for the next three rounds, the round 2-4 Bays or the Bays we saw against Sturt, the 2nd Half against Centrals and the 1st half v North??

IF we play the the hard, disciplined, smart and selfless footy we have demonstrated we can play this year, well the results will take care of themselves.

The best part of our current position is our destiny is still in our hands - we have the power to make it happen.....

Follow up wins against Sturt and Norwood after these three games will be a must too, to set up a potential winner take all last minor round game v South.

C"MON YOU MIGHTY TIGERS EAT 'EM ALIVE TO MAKE THE FIVE...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

IMHO The Bays have got no chance of making the finals.
The best thing about this statement for Bays fans is at the beginning of the year I thought they'd be bottom so I'm always wrong about the Bays.

Honestly though I'm not putting down the Bays, its just that North, Eagles, Central, South and Port are all shoeins to make the finals.
Your only chance is if Clayton and a couple of other players go down for Port as they can't handle injuries as was proven against West and South recently.

Good luck though.

we can make the finals if its the team that played in the early rounds but if its the team that showed up against sturt then we have no chance.

How are the injuries going as depth seems to be a problem?

hopefully we dont have too many long term injuries apart from Fish, and we can get our team back together and get that winning feeling, south always know how to give us the winning feeling.

I have a gut feeling about these games that, we will probally lose to both Westies and Souf but have a fine win against the Scum. I wont be at any of these games so probally wont miss a win anyway.

I beleive the bays season is on the line this saturday. Lose to the panthers and you'll be 2 games +percentage out of the 5. As usual I expect a spirited encounter with hopefully the panthers coming out on top.
Any word on whether doc clarke is to play, or will he pull out with a late minute injury. Can't wait to see him use that renowned vigor he possesses against the scrupuously fair and gentile Craig Parry -should be a highlight.

This Saturday at the Bay is it?
I'd love to get to that game, but it will all depend on how I pull up after North's Gala Dinner the night before which if history dictates will ensure I'm pretty crook.
I hope the Snouts wont get violent if I rock up in blue and white and cheer for the Mighty Panthers!

lol, just a warning, if previous Gala Dinners are a fair indication my blue and white top might turn multi coloured during the game and I'm not sure anyone would want to see that!

PS It'll be interesting because despite some of my posts most would know I'm good mates with most of the Snouts and have a soft spot for the Bays (don't tell North fans that though! - BUT I love the way South are playing footy this year and have a soft spot for them too with my son being in their Auskick zone and them always looking after me at Noarlunga).

Spot on B&W season on the line for us, lose and whilst still mathmatically possible, finals will be virtually out of the question.

If we play four quarters of hard disciplined footy we'll be right.

FWIW I thought this game was scheduled for Sunday.....If I didn't have to be in Melbourne on Saturday I'd have probably come over for this game...

If South turn it on like they did in the 2nd qtr on Saturday they will win easily.

If we can turn it on like we did against Norwood for a half we will win easily, that is the problem with my club and our cat cousins our best will beat anyone but our worst......

Sorry Tassie

You MIGHT get 1 win but against South and Port there is only an ultra-slim chance ...

Good Luck though. Would love to see you in the finals

still not that certain about south making the 5 playing good football but like i have said b4 there are mistakes we make for about 10 - 25 in a game and its byby game too much handball at times and turnovers.

Yeah thats a good point, once you get over that inconsistency you will make the finals. The Glenelg i saw on the Sunday earlier in the year were very impressive, you will need to play like that this week.

Been dropping some non-too subtle hints to the Minister for Home Affairs and Finance about a drive over on Sunday, she has a friend who has just dropped a foal, "You go see her darling or spend some of my hard earned at Harbour Town, I'll just mind the kids at the Bay oval......."
