The Magpies after the bye will be hoping to finish their season off with a win at home. The Roosters' form however has picked up in recent weeks and will be a tough opponent. I think North will win by about 3 goals but an upset win wouldn't totally surprise.

Picked up form in recent weeks - what form and when did that happen?
We beat South (everyone does that) and then fluked one against the Eagles. Yes lucky for the comp the season doesn't go 46 rounds as we are just starting hit our straps!
Give me a break FFS!

It does make one wonder if the brainiacs who, dressed nicely in red and white, raised a wooden spoon up the flag pole at Alberton Oval in Round Three complete with black and white ribbon have the audacity to do so again in this final round of the year?
Might be an opportune time for me to remind them that we can all start our mad Monday celebrations at the same time.
Premature come* to mind?

I don't think audacity would be the word.

I looked back to the game review for the Round 3 match but cannot find it but I do not recall this "incident" being mentioned back then Booney - and if you were aware of it happening on the day why didn't you mention it back then?
If true, after the way we played that day I would have taken it down very quickly if it were me that did it!

A few posters in here would know, via my pm's to them, that this occured. Our form most of the year didn't have me overly enthused about missing the spoon, but now that is safe I can quite confidently revive this little incident and look forward to reminding the perpetrators of said prank that they may have fired that shot a little soon.

Point em out mate.
I dare say those fans would be off the bandwagon now. Either that or too gutless to show their faces again.

Not sure why you are getting so fired up DA???
Your own team supporters in the main spent most of the previous decades with the "arrogance stick" fair and truly stuck up your arses. For example the coffin draped in the opposition colours that used to get carried around FP in finals by a group of Magpie supporters! All clubs have them!

Not getting fired up, just want to have a laugh at a bunch of muppets that support a club who were built up as premiership contenders, only to finish 1 spot above the supposed wooden spoon contenders.

This thread is quite symbolic of the upcoming match, a battle of mediocrity.

I am laughing with you OTR. I am old enough to remember that feeling and hope that I never do again. I won't be patronising and say "there is always next year" I used to hate that.

All the same, being held up from the bottom by South is hardly anything to be proud of...

Could be a historic match, possibly the Port's ever last one.
Hopefully North can win for Younie, who has announced his retirement.
And hopefully the match is better than Round 3, easily one of the worst SANFL matches I have ever seen.
