What was the crowd? It looks like only friends and family.

Nice to see North copying the back of the Port guernsey.

Only about 1700, very disappointing with the nice weather.

When did Port start wearing red and white? :?

In that 1st photo, Matty Campbell (holding the ball) really does look so much smaller than his teammates....

Not sure of your point, 1500 travelling fans there yesterday as opposed to about 40 Glenelg fans at Prospect not long ago.
No comparison really and I'm unsure of your point.

Yes dutchy - there were **** all West supporters at Richmond. I would say there were no more than 100 hundred in all honesty - even half the stand was North people. Disgraceful turnout from a home team.

Of course Dutchy would know better as he was there.
Even the Westies fans I chatted to said the same.

But even so way too quick for anyone at the Bay!

Western Suburbs (West + Eagles) playing at Thebarton.

8 team comp, everyone playing each other 3 times, fixed!

I was in the outer for the NA V WA game and there was NOT one West supporter out there.

I would guess out of the 1700 there, maybe 250 West supporters turned up. Honestly, that is a real concern.

PS...Nice to meet you Coorong.

Just questioning, so with your theory a West/Bays game at Richmond would get about 300 attendee's...

Not at all mate, I've never theorised as to how many people would attend a West v Glenelg game at Richmond. It depends if its raining or not mate and as its a bit closer to home and the Bays would be a much bigger chance at winning I'd imagine they'd probably travel a lot better for that game than they would for an Alberton, Elizabeth or Prospect game being the front runners they are!

Obvious and common sense I would have thought?
And no theories involved at all, just straight forward facts and observations backed up by photographs if ever needed.

I'm a bit worried now, RM. I had conversations with several West supporters in the outer during the day, but now I'm not so sure.

What is it anyway with North supporters and their obsession with crowd numbers :?:

Sorry R&B, I must have missed the 3 that were diguised out there.

I think you will find that a West supporter first mentioned the travelling North Fans.

Actually it was a Glenelg supporter.
And a Port supporter brought up the crowd.

Because clubs with shit a following (YOUR CLUB) drag the comp down - still you have been like it ever since I've been going to football and in this era it will likely never improve.

Your club is tired and stale (and has been for many years in reality), has a very old average age tiny supporter base, limited success in it's history and like South does not appear to have an propensity to make change - although South are at least trying to be innovative and change - what do West do part from change coaches?

A new CEO (if he gets board support) could at least try to start the movement for change and freshness at Richmond before it is too late?

And to think that some posters have suggested that some North supporters tend to be a bit arrogant

Presuming that you, of course, are not arrogant, drebin, perhaps you'd like to tell us why clubs like us drag the competition down. We've always paid our way, we're financially sound, we have a thriving junior set-up and we've been regular finalists in recent years except for the last 2 years. Your club was recently almost a basket-case until you were bailed out by a businessman (I won't discuss any of his business).

Of course, you could advocate that the lowest drawing team is discarded, but if you kept doing that you would finish up with only one team.

I must say that some of your supporters do credit to your club. Some others have just a little too much arrogance and pay no respect to the competition.
