Rnd 17 - Panthers v Norwood @ Hickinb'm - 2.10pm Sun 24/7/11

Despite sitting second on the ladder Norwood haven't played their best footy in the last month. They come up against the Panthers who are currently one of the in form sides of the competition.

The Redlegs will lose if they underestimate the Panthers because Ron Fuller's record at Hickinbotham has been very impressive this year.

I'll tip Norwood by 2 goals, but an upset is a definite possibility.

This one may well end up being the closest of the round, should be an entertaining game no doubt.

The Panthers do play well at home and Norwood will want to respond from their poor display of skills today at Woodville.

Selection will be interesting in this one, particularly from an AFL point of view, mainly with Taylor Walker of course.

With or without Walker, I think Norwood will go in as favourites of course but South aren't without a chance in this one.

Again, I'll wait until the 21 of each side is picked before making a final decision, although I think I know who I'll tip already ;)

Todays effort wasnt good enough, hope Bass read the riot act and a few guys get sent to the ressies.
Flip should return this week as the Power have the bye and willbe interesting to see if Tex has another run with us. South have improved a fair bit and are always difficult down there but im tipping us to bounce back and win by 1-2 goals

Looking forward to this one. It will be great to see how much South have improved since our debacle at Norwood 6 wks ago. South played quite well in the first half but capitulated meekly in the second half.Since then the clubs hardy supporters have seen some pretty solid four quarter efforts and 3 wins in 4 weeks, cant remember that happening for quite a while!
If Walker plays he will prove a tough matchup for us-especially seeing we collected a few injuries yesterday.
Panthers to get over the line in this one and make everyone sit up and take notice. ;)

I've heard Phillips has had surgery recently, so I'm not sure when, if at all, he'll play again this year.

after watching both teams over the weekend norwood will need walker playing as they can't rely on shenton to kick all the goals, i also don't think norwood are in good form atm while south is in good form & play particularly well at home & i think an upset is on the cards with the home side winning by 4 or 5 goals

Havnt heard about surgery, was told he was nearly ready this week. Power website still lists him as "test".
Maybe he went to surgery during week and list hasnt been updated yet

A 100% improvement will be required in the manning up & kicking to position departments for the full game if the Legs are to have any chance of winning this one.
Panthers have been around the mark for a lot of the season & have pushed some more fancied sides. Go Legs!

mal, if north were disciplined last week in the last term when they basically gifted norwood 5 goals in quick time i think they would have beaten norwood, so that's 2 below par performances in a row & their skill level yesterday was woeful..to this game south will win in my book ;)

Port have updated their injury list to show Simon Phillips as out for season.
They now have Jonas as "test" aswell.
Would be awesome to get Jonas back in the ressies this week, he had a good start to the season and would slot into the league side nicely in a week or two.
Gavin Hughes has also recovered and should start in the ressies against South

Whaddaya talkin about Bayman
NW beat NA 2 games ago
WWT got beaten by NA at Woodville oval a few games ago
Beating NA by just over 2 goals is a well earnt win

Any win in this comp must be taken appreciably
For a club to win 8 in a row is an outstanding effort in this comp
