First ABC TV... now LifeFM questioning 2012 coverage?

Found this on LifeFM's OFFICIAL facebook site

http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Life-FM/124137277616643

As a member of the LifeFM SANFL team it's an "interesting" question for the station to ask

so if you like the coverage to remain next year might be a good time to let LifeFM know. http://www.life.on.net

PS - Please keep any replies civil.

As a fellow member of LifeFM's crew, I too would love to see it remain as a broadcaster of SANFL games, of course.

well i guess if ABC TV and LIFE FM dont cover SANFL next season, it only leaves 5RPH and ABC Digital who have done fri night matches this season for next season, providing the ABC allow the coverage to continue, so it could only leave RPH as the only broadcaster for SANFL.

if this is the case, and thats the worst case scenario then the SANFL will either have another lift in attendances, as some people may choose not to go if their team is covered - especially on tv - or it will be the beginning of the end for the competition with less coverage :( :(

I ain't checking the fecesbook link; I will assume that it has something to do with Life pulling the pin on SANFL coverage.

Gardening chez Pseudo during the winter would be a lot more onerous without Life's coverage. As the only station on the FM band which does SANFL it is the only one listenable on the old walkman while I do the weeding.

I would happily chuck a few clams in Life FM's direction if this was the difference between coverage and no coverage. Provided that the money was guaranteed to be used only for football coverage, of course...

For those not on facebook the question that starts the thread is .....

Seeing as SANFL coverage seems to be today's hot topic, we want to know - would you be disappointed if Life FM didn't cover the SANFL in 2012?

i would also like the coverage to stay but i would hardly ever listen to it as i am always at the game

maybe it is similar for most other loyal sanfl followers which begs the question is it really only the 20,000 people who turn up each week who actually care about the sanfl? if 2 of the 3 broadcasters are thinking of dropping the demand cant be that high from outside the core group of followers

Life FM do a fantastic job. Always enjoy listening if I'm not at the footy or to catch the round ups on the way home from the game. If I had a choice of all radio stations to cover a game I'm listening to it would be LifeFM.

id dare suggest that there may be a lot of people for a variety of reasons that cant get to games and rely on radio broadcasts for updates/hear the game

Losing any radio coverage would obviously be a disaster for every club's geo-challenged members and for those closer to home who can never or very rarely get to games for health reasons etc

JAS

I've written to them explaining how dropping local sport would be playing into the hands of Satan. I've included many bible quotes to back this up, hopefully they haven't actually read that book and find all the verses that contradict that view.

YES it would be disappointing to lose their coverage BUT ;

- unlike most others on here, I beleve there is plenty of room for improvement.

I think theres too much sport on the radio and not enough messages and songs of spiritual inspiration.
