I think the dogs will win fairly confortably but not by a great margin. 4-5 goals at half time and full time. Port might have a chance if they get some AFL listed players in and playing good footy, but the dogs look a few classes above Port right now IMHO. Coming off a bye and a hard month's training might slow them down a little but not enough with the minor premiership still on the line.

The BYE gives Port a silly chance this Saturday.
Been a long time between drinks since Ports last win over the Doggies.

The last 10 meetings the Dogs have won - August 2006 was the Maggies last victory.

I'll miss this one as I'll be in Melbourne so glad it is on ABC TV.

Indeed, the bye does give Port a chance.
Also, Central is still managing its injuries and I'm pretty sure the club would rather have a full list of players (as much as possible) available for finals, than worry about the minor premiership. I'd almost expect the Dogs to want a really strong lineup for their last minor round game against North, and try and really get a big win and some good momentum on the board.
Port not without a chance, but Central should sail home by 4 goals plus.

The Quarter time margin seems to match the final siren margin lately, so if we can get off to a decent start I'll be confident of a win.

Norwood supporters don't travel to Alberton when there team is playing, can't expect them to travel to watch a Port v dogs game.

Well I recall a couple of weeks ago, when the Dogs were playing the Double Blues out at the Ponderosa, we got a letter sent to the studios at RPH when doing the Thursday Night League Teams Show from a Norwood fan who made mention of the fact that there was going to be '600 Norwood supporters heading out to Elizabeth to cheer on Sturt over the Dogs and that Sturt would win by 47 points and Central wont win a game again this season'.

So I would have thought we will see red and blue flags being waved down the Maggies cheersquad end at Alberton on Saturday then? ;)

That's not what recent SANFL statistics show. Even when cr@p over the past few years, Port have averaged 3rd in Home attendances and 1st in away crowds.

Ahh statistics. It's because when Port play away more home team supporters go, as they think they may see a Port defeat.
Until, they count supporters from each team at the gate, we don't know how any teams supporters really travel.

Not sure what stats beenreal?

Interestingly here are some figures on average home match attendances from 2006-2009.

2006 1st CD (4,115), 2nd Glenelg (3,455), 3rd Norwood (3,412), 4th Port (3,325), 5th North (3,193)
2007 1st CD (3,830), 2nd Norwood (3,531), 3rd Sturt (3,263), 4th Glenelg (3,091) 5th Port (3,042)
2008 1st Glenelg (5,158) 2nd Norwood (3,871), 3rd CD (3,698), 4th Port (3,423), 5th Sturt (3,334)
2009 1st Glenelg (4,024), 2nd Sturt (3,616), 3rd Norwood (3,579), 4th CD (3,121), 5th Port (2,991)

In another thread Phil H had Port 2nd for away crowds this year and 4th last year.
