South need 2,078 people to attend Friday Nights game against the Eagles
to beat last years home match figure and make it SIX straight seasons
they have had growth in home match crowds.
2005 - 1,530 per home game
2006 - 1,768 per home game
2007 - 1,901 per home game
2008 - 1,931 per home game
2009 - 2,003 per home game
2010 - 2,249 per home game ( 22,487 total)
2011 - 2,268 per home game ( 20,410 total with 1 game to go)

1 - You would think they would get that figure on Friday night, and some.
2 - Thats a good steady increase and with finals a real possibility this year ( Friday night a big,big game ) then they are heading the right way under Fuller. I guess most people figured they should and would.

Should do....on a nice night there is no real excuse why they should not.
Finals at the doorstep, playing some good attacking footy, local games played on Saturday.....so why not.
Lets hope they do.

You wonder how many more they will attract in years to come. For the first time since 06 they are knocking on the final 5 door yet an average increase of 19 this year from last year ? I hope they do but neither clubs have many supporters so that will make it difficult.

Either way it's a huge effort getting the crowds up by over 700 people per game since 2005.
Unfortunately the Eagles aren't the biggest pulling* crowd but given the importance of the result for both teams I reckon they'll get the 2,078 required.

An extra 500 neutrals wouldn't go Bayman IMO. PLus they probably have no more free tickets to give, my understanding is each club is allocated a certain amouunt per year and that is it. ??

We have not given a free ticket away all year.

Yep. We have tried that since moving in 1995 and for us it does not work. Starting from a low base, we have made consistent improvements in crowd numbers (yes despite the on field performance) and we are convinced that we need to have a constant community presence in order to build up local loyalty.

So you are saying that the tickets the SANFL give South they don't use ? I know this is not true .

Which are for clubs to use for mini league parents/guardians/officials/umpires. We do not just give away random tickets is my point..

No worries , my point was that the SANFL give clubs tickets each year for give aways and all clubs use those in some form.
I don't think clubs are allowed to give tickets away independently.
