With only one round to go, the top four spots are confirmed with only 5th position up for grabs. Here's the equation for each of the four teams still in contention to finish in 5th position.
PORT ADELAIDE MAGPIES
Win or draw v Eagles
or
Lose v Eagles, and
South lose or draw to Norwood, and
North lose or draw to Norwood, and
West lose or draw Sturt, or West defeat Sturt but combined margins of this game and Port v Eagles is less than approximately 30 goals (eg. 15 goal win to Eagles, 15 goal win to West)
SOUTH ADELAIDE
Win v Norwood, and
Port lose to Eagles
NORTH ADELAIDE
Win v Central, and
Port lose to Eagles, and
South lose or draw to Norwood
WEST ADELAIDE
Win v Sturt, and
Port lose to Eagles, and
South lose or draw to Norwood, and
North lose to Central, and
combined margins of Port v Eagles and West v Sturt is more than approximately 30 goals (eg. 15 goal win to Eagles, 15 goal win to West)

Nup that's us - 20 years since our last flag so it could well be 30 before the Chooks win it again?

The way we played yesterday South would be favourites to get in. Cant see Port beating the Eagles

if it was at Noarlunga I might be inclined to agree but you should win at The Parade in a close one. Put it this way, no loss if you lose, same as Us.

Yeah could be a week where all of the top 3 relax a little before finals and have nothing to gain.
So Port may be in box seat
Could all of the Top 4 not win in the same week?

But as they will all play for the Power this afternoon at Adelaide Oval, doesn't that mean they can't play SANFL next week?

Geez i wish the SANFL would make these rules clear, I was led to believe they could play for their SANFL clubs next week but their matches dont count towards qualification.

That was my understanding, but seeing they are all qualified that part doesn't matter

They cant play in the last round unless they played the previous round or didnt play AFL the previous rnd They can however come back for finals
