NWD fans is that the worst you've played all year?? You appeared to put up more of a contest in rd 3 when we somehow managed a win.

I'm sure with Zorzi and the like back next week you'll be a much stronger outfit.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Not a good day but not much at stake. Some very poor kicking for goal that will need to improve next week. I'm very concerned about next week, I just don't think we are playing well enough to beat a side like the Eagles.

Congratulations to South.

Well done the Panthers, hope you go along way in the finals. To the supporters, really happy for you. Like Westies supporters, our clubs dont make finals often and the few supporters our clubs do have are very loyal.

With Port losing to the Mighty Eagles means that South make the finals.

South wanted it more, took their opportunities, did the percentage things from quarter time onwards, kicked longer more in awful conditions and did a lot more of the little things. We're statistically the best clearance side in the competition and the midfield brigade of Liddle, Cross and Stribling were excellent. Best game I've seen Cross play and Cockshell in his 100th was brilliant. Marked strongly above his head in slippery conditions and provided an extra target up forward instead of having to rely on Wundke. Brooksby also stood up in what was imo his best game for the club, which was helped by a stack more game time. Was impressed with Lyons and Gotch today as well. Too often we've hit the lead and let it go. There were stages where it looked like Norwood would almost get a run on but the team showed a lot of character today. Hourigan was quite impressive on debut as well, took a lot of risks and didn't seem phased by the occasion. Saw him in a few 16s games this year and he really looked like a man amongst boys. Only real downer on the day was the leg injury to Veide.

Just some of the telling stats today that paint a pretty clear picture...

Long Kicks
Norwood 55 - 85 South

Short Kicks
Norwood 72 - 43 South

Tackles
Norwood 31 - 41 South

Hard Ball Gets
Norwood 19 - 33 South

Spoils & Shepherds
Norwood 16 - 32 South

Clearances
Norwood 38 - 44 South

Sincere congratulations to South & its fans on finals qualification.

Do you think that not participating in the Foxtel Cup has augured in the Panthers' favour?

Well, the top 5 did not play Foxtel Cup but, in all honesty, we are terrible after bye's. I would rather us keep playing than not at this point.

Fantastic for South and their supporters. I'd think most non-glenelg people would be barracking for South next week. Go panthers!

Meh, pretty meaningless game for us. Rest some players who needed it and gave some fresh faces a go. As an added bonus we eliminated Port from finals so not to upset at results.

I'm fussed, because we are rubbish at the moment.

I know we had nothing to play for, but lets not overlook how woeful our skills are, how bad our forward line is, and that we're in big danger of going down in straigh sets.

Eagles will smash us.

well its quite obvious from your remarks that Norwood threw the game, and the sanfl should be duty bound to launch an immediate enquiry,

Tanking in the positive eh?

I'll take that as the only one to come out of the afternoon!

There were 7 changes to the side, investigate that ;)
