This is great news! Well done Phil and well done South for appointing someone with a real passion for the SANFL. Many views Phil Herden writes in his Messenger articles, I fully agree with and would like to see implemented. This will be a great boost for South and hopefully in turn the whole competition.

Well it will be a real "conundrum" for him if South make the 5, then blitz the opposition and they are more than capable of it on their day and play the Eagles in a GF? (There will be plenty of seats though if you want to go along as a neutral!)
What will he do as Marketing Manager if South lose and he has to trek back to a windswept marquee on the Noarlunga Oval whilst the Eagles diehards party away at Oval Avenue. I imagine part of his role will be to organise the GF celebrations if they make it?
Good luck to him but personally I couldn't go and work for the enemy. You have to adapt their culture etc and South of all clubs? I suppose they are financial etc but I'm surprised with his Eagles contacts he didn't put in for their job earlier this year when Brett Frewin resigned? Fancy having to bullshit to potential clients about South's success to get sponsors on board! LOL Better get out the 1964 pics as guide!
Good luck - you will need it.

Crikey, it never amazes to cease me how much Phil can manage to do in 24 hours/7 days a week!
Great appointment by South, and congrats Phil.
Does this mean the 5RPH days are over?
That'll be a shame.
I look forward to seeing you at a South v Eagles game but at least Noarlunga is reasonbly close to home for ya which I'm sure will make the family happy!
Well done all!

Phil was the main man and inspiration in getting the media guide done; he puts in many hours with 5RPH, a very passionate SANFL man. South will benefit from his services for sure; especially with someone whose heart is within the Competition. Well done, I am sure you will do well.
