A home game for us ......so stock standard result!!!

Absolutely let down about the result as it was ours for the taking.

Well done Legs.

Norwood's class and efficiency won out in the end - 6 goals from 8 inside 50 entries in the last quarter to South's woefully inefficient 2 from 14.

Terrific effort from Michael Newton though - six goals including three in the last quarter to seal the deal.

Good effort by the Legs after a disappointing 2nd quarter with too much undisciplined play.
Great efficiency in the last quarter, we were under the pump in defence for long patches in that final term but the backline held their nerve and we scored everytime we went forward.
One must ask if night games have lost their appeal down South, would have expected a similar crowd for a day game, dont know what costs are involved but wouldnt think its worth having night games if the crowd isnt any bigger.
Noarlunga has been a very happy hunting ground for us in the last few years so good to keep the status quo

Running out games in the last two weeks has been a problem for us

Last week Q4 v West: 6.3 to 1.2
Last night Q4 v Norwood: 6.0 to 2.0
Total: 12.3 to 3.2

Can't really say the "long" trip to Melbourne caused that but the results have been telling since that hard-fought slog at the MCG. Has it really been worth it?

After playing some of our best footy for the year in the second term, what followed was could only be described as inept and dumb. The risk taking, breaking the lines, clean and direct type of footy was replace by mucking around at half back before bombing long to 1 on 2 contests time and time again. The Nwd backs rebounded the ball with ease after half time and were efficient going forward (very similiar to what Westies did last round).

Norwood were always going to 'up the ante' after half time, but yet again we were left behind. Really disappointing loss this one.

It was a perfect night for footy, should have been bigger crowd there.

Game against West, South were kicking into a 3-4 wind in the last quarter

It was 3 weeks ago, and it's an hour on a plane. Don't think it's a valid excuse.

Personally , I think the week off would have been good for us.

Just my opinion but the club thinks otherwise as we have never played well after the bye......ummmm.... We still haven't !!

Unconfirmed as yet, but I heard Norwood 133 def South 33. Nothing more in terms of scores kicked, etc. Just a final points score.

Norwood 5.6 9.11 16.11 21.16 (142)
South 1.0 4.1 4.3 4.5 (29)

Goals:
Norwood - Bampton 4, Dinham 4, Williamson 3, Baldasso 3, Surman 3, Peter, Giannini, Helyar, Driscoll.
South - Duncan, Nobes, Pearce, Steffe.

In addition to kicking four goals, Bampton also collected 40 disposals and had 14 clearances for Norwood. Caleb Daniel yet again topped the possession-getters for South with 23 in a lone-hand performance.

Norwood was only leading by 33 points two minutes before half time after South had stood firm in the second quarter after the bleeding in the first quarter. But from there onwards it was all the legs, ramming home 13.6 to 0.4.
