Round 11 - North v Norwood @ Prospect Oval (Sat 9/6)

The Roosters would be 'cock-a-hoop' after a good win against the Bays yesterday while the challenge will be now ahead of them in this game taking on the undefeated Redlegs. Norwood were patchy in their win over the Panthers and would be looking to improve yet again in some of their efficiencies. For both sides, AFL selections will have some form of impact on their final 21.

Broadcast Details - ABC TV from 2:00pm

Recent Encounters
- Norwood won the last 6 encounters, North the previous 3

Recent @ Prospect
- Norwood won last 3 games

last time we played, I thought North's effort was under rated at the time. They did apply good pressure, certainly in the first half, but didn't get much reward from the scoreboard.
Also, last time around Nwd lost Jonas at half time (knee) and Batsanis was concussed in the warm up, whilst Alleway had 1 kick (and might have been reported as well?). Norwood is also missing James Aish this time around.

Things should be different for North this time, especially on the back of a solid win over the Bays and this game is on their home deck. They should look to exploit Nwd's poor hit out stats and get first use of the ball.

Just as North have a very good record at Norwood, Norwood has an excellent record at Prospect. I don't know the reason why, but I expect it to continue albeit in a closer contest than at Norwood. Currie is emerging as a very good ruckman and if Allan and Bennet continue their midfield domination North might be a slight chance.

I thought last time we met that the score board flattered North. That night Norwood were a 10 goal better side than North.

Reckon we should get the job done by 7-8 goals at our home away from home. Be a good battle in the midfield but I still think North's defence is a little suss and I think our key forwards can expose them

Well if you go by the stats which of course don't always tell the real story, North should dominate the ruck and midfield battle with Currie, Allan, Bennett, Ryswyk and Thiele all getting plenty of it!

because no-one wins every minor round game.

Of people you Dogs fans should know that history is there to be rewritten. Screw the minor round. Let's go through the whole year unbeaten I reckon. ;)

If north can get up, the top 5 will almost be set. With only positions to change inside there.

No way would we or a couple of other teams be safe at this stage of the season and it isn't even the halfway mark!

We have 3 byes to come, Rounds 14 and 15 and Round 21. Don't forget after a couple of good perfromances we are ripe for coughing up a poor performance such as 4 weeks ago against Port at Alberton! That loss is made even worse by the fact they were beaten in the Foxtel Cup by the bottom Qld side!

Seriously if you have followed North for long enough you should know not to count your roosters before they hatch!

Stats man please ........
Has any team gone through the season undefeated AND won the flag ?
Thought Port did it one year in the 50's ????
I know Norwood did it a few times in the 1800's but they did not play a GF then I think.

Port in 1914 is the only occurrence.

Port won year in the 50s only lost one game, I think.

The Bays certainly only lost the one game in 1973, and that was at Prospect.

So you are 'almost certain ' of this Centurion ? To be honest with you I am waiting for the 2nd semi final, should we make it of course, to see where the 'legs are at, regardless of who wins the next dogs/legs game.
