Yes, it is bizarre. Same thing will happen with Glenelg in Rounds 15/16 and Eagles Round 18/19 - the second two week break for the Eagles after having the bye the week before the State game as well.

From a player management point of view it is Gold. A real chance to freshen up players both mentally and physically.

Aerie you would know more than me, but didn't your mob request the double bye"s when the draw was being done. I could be wrong but I thought I read or heard that somewhere
