Round 15 - Norwood v Central @ Coopers Stadium (Sun 8/7)

So, the much anticipated 'top of the table' clash has arrived. The Redlegs and Doggies have been the two best sides so far in the competition to date and this game should be another classic between two clubs that have formed a nice little rivalry of late. Previous games between thse 2 sides have been pretty close in recent years so this should be another classic one. AFL selections will play a part for both coaches at the selection table. Let's hope this game draws a big crowd with a few neutral fans heading along as well.

Funny to think that as highly anticipated this match is it isn't likely to change much. Norwood look locked into #1 and the dogs similarly look unlikely to lose the double chance. Perhaps some confidence and maybe finding out something about a few blokes might be it, but the premiership will be won in 3 months time, this game will be a distant memory by then.
Norwood seem to be a little down right now, certainly in my mind the dogs have better form, but they also might be lacking in motivation. This week might be the motivation to lift their game again. I think Norwood might get up here. At home and the strange difficulty the dogs seem to have on smaller grounds might tip things in favor of Norwood.

Dogies have been waiting for this one.
Dogs to win by good percentage here I think.
Plenty of respect for the Legs.
Could be what the Legs have been waiting for and they win by a cricket score...
Great game to watch this weekend... Lets hope it is a clash of skills in what will probably be poor conditions..

Recent @ Coopers Stadium
- Norwood have won the last 3 encounters, Central the previous 7
Close Encounters
- 8 of the last 13 contests between these 2 sides have been decided by under 10 points

How about in such poor conditions,
The Norwood Footy Club to throw the gates open to let all SANFL followers in free.
Middle of winter and the crowds are down.
Saying this early because it is going to need advertisement and i know the clubs watch this site.

Norwood to set a Precedent.

Maybe throw a free B-B-Q on (with the aid of the SANFL).
Lets get a crowd there.

I think this game does have a fair bit riding on it. If Norwood win, that is 1st spot pretty much guaranteed. If Central win, I think they'll be every chance to snatch 1st spot from Norwood by the end of the season. I guess it depends on how much value 1st spot is given as opposed to top 3 at the end of the minor round. I think Central will win, Norwood seem to be in a flat spot at the moment.

I have a feeling that Central will just be happy gaining a top three finish this season. With Norwood having a bye in the last round, it may not be in their interests to finish top. Not sure how they will fare with no football for 22 days leading into their first final.
Cheers

For the dogs to finish top they would have to win Saturday and then hope Norwood drop 2 other games as their % is so good the dogs will never catch them.
Roy's objective is always a top 3 spot.
But having said all that it will be interesting to see where the 2 clubs are at midway through the season.

Dogs by 55 points and 10 fights to break out in the crowd which will not be controlled by the "crowd controllers"

Yeah, but any disadvantage to Central is balanced by the fact that Glenelg plays there.
