geez i thought black caviar prices were easy!! norwood at one dollar eighty seems like easier money? it feels as if they need to trip over 3 of the last 6 hurdles too fail in my opinion. get on now!!!! they wont be $1.80 come the big dance.

Ok odds but would rather wait to the GF where depending on how they get to the GF and who they are playing you may get equal or better odds and its down to a 2 horse race.
Only way i could see waiting backfire is if Norwood go straight through to the GF and dont play Central. If they play Central in the GF i would expect the bookies to be a tad careful and if they dont win the second semi then they may not start favs in the gf if they were to make it.
Definate favs at this stage though.

Odds mean absolutely nothing. Total waste of time.
History shows that over a hundred + year period if you win any more than 50% of the Grand Finals you play in that is a bonus.
Glenelg are certainly an exception and currently Centrals are above average but in 2069 Centrals will be the same as the rest. Only wish I was around then to prove my therory correct. My letter from the queen would have faded significantly by then !
Cue Spelly to list the teams and their % of Grand Finals won.

i have gone a little conservative. ive layed 40% of my budget hoping they blow out a little should they lose a couple more. but i think its a done deal at the end of the day. norwood are a monty for the 2012 premiership.

Not if your looking to have a punt on the SANFL premiers 2012.

I think we have all been fooled by the Eagles!!!
I admit I was one who thought lookout if they get going but week after week they keep disappointing, im not so sure they will make finals now and im surprised their odds are still shortish. I think North are a far better shot at playing finals

I agree Norwood are looking like "good things" but not the time to back them.
They've been wound in after thrashing Centrals but will not get any shorter until the finals.
A few good Centrals performances should see them ease back out to evens+.

Hmmm. I think that the premier will either be Norwood or Central.
So If I put $4M on Norwood and $3M on Central I will make $200,000 if Norwood win and $1.25M if the dogs win.

Claremont were $1.80 a couple of years ago and it appeared they were a sure thing.
Lost the grand final by a point to Swan Districts.

Yes he did. He notched up 41 disposals, 6 tackles and 4 goals and was the catalyst for Swan's upset win.
I think $1.80 for Norwood is a bit too short at this stage. There's not much incentive risking a stake for that return when there's still plenty of football left in the season.
If they do make the Grand Final you'd probably get close to $1.20 on the day and possibly even more if they ended up playing a proven business-end performer like Central.

Yep and if they dont win the second semi you may get anywhere up to the $2.50 for them for the premiership.
At this point of time to great a risk for not enough reward.

The Eagles were a shorter price to win this year's flag immediately prior to round one this than they were in Grand Final week last year to win last year's flag. Thus even though Norwood look good things to win the flag, $1.80 is very, very short at this stage of the year.
