he he, I thought I'd see if I could sneak that one in seeing as it was Norwood's last game.

I'm going for Norwood, but after last weeks effort by the legs, I wouldn't be surprised if Sturt lose by a little less then in recent weeks.

No matter how badly Norwood are travelling, they'll still beat Sturt by at least 10 goals. If only Brodie didn't have such big arms, he'd be able to fit a few tricks up his sleeve.

I think this one will go to penalties.

well i'll be taking the points as i have for the last 6 or 7 weeks against sturt it is another GIFT even though norwood dont score heavily they'll kick enough to win by at least 10 goals weather permitting

This will be a very close game and a bit of a laugh because both cheersquads are gonna throw a party @ Adelaide Oval and celebrate for both having a dodgy season, which will be the 4th in a row for us. But looking forward to our last game of the season!

and i dont think brodie can be blamed for anything, the players are just waiting for the season to finish, but he will be judged on how well he can get the youngsters up for it...carn you blues!!!!

CARETAKER Sturt coach Brodie Atkinson never expected miracles but he does demand a red-hot competitive attack on Norwood under lights at Adelaide Oval tonight from 7.40.
It's the non-negotiable foundation and Atkinson - a 2002 premiership forward - can remember when competition was the Blues' trademark.

Atkinson knows it takes a lot of small steps to go from easybeats to being a force but even in last week's 102-point thrashing by Port Adelaide he saw something that might signal the slide has stopped.

"The result last week didn't reflect how we'd improved in some areas," he said. "Our ability to win the contested ball improved.

"We didn't use it that well so that's what we want to work on this week. The young blokes we brought into the side last week performed really well."

Sturt regained Andrew Whiteman from injury and recalled Fabian Deluca and Will Paley. It improved its discipline last week after foolishly giving away about 10 25-metre penalties a week earlier.

The Blues have become chronic slow starters but Norwood is also tardy out of the blocks. But the Legs' bigger problem has been not going the distance. It can't take part in the finals and the disappointment showed last week with a limp approach and upset loss to West Adelaide.

Norwood recalled Paul James and Tim Nicholas to a squad of 22, which forced out Brad DeVries. It has the bye next week so its season will be prematurely ended tomorrow and that leaves no time to waste.

The Legs rave about their winning culture and pride but both were sadly missing when it counted most. Their strength - such as it is - is in defence where Brett Zorzi has a stranglehold on the club championship award. He's in for a hectic day against Brant Chambers (62.37) who is just six goals adrift of the Eagles' Mark Passador (68.38) in the race for the Ken Farmer Medal with two rounds remaining.

I agree with Brodie's comments on last week's game. We did win much more contested ball but turned it over far too easily.

Chambers v Zorzi will be fascinating...2 players very much in form over the course of this season. Even if Zorzi keeps Chambers quiet Sturt do have other options:

- Paley back in is a plus - he's already shown he knows how to kick a goal in a handful of league appearances.
- Button has shown in recent weeks he knows how to take a contested mark.

Was impressed by the last qtr performance of S.Miles ( ) last week too. He took on J. Clayton on a couple of occasions and beat him.

It should be a great night for footy. FIRE UP BLUES!

I reakon Sturt are every chance in this one ... Wouldn't be surprised to see Duigan take Chambers either, although would have preferred to see Gibbo play in the one's on him, that would be a fascinating matchup to say the least ...

From the supporters I've spoken to from each team, the spirit should be alive and well tonight ... Seems most are in a good mood to see this season over as quickly as possible lol

We blew our opportunity at Coopers and Norwood beat us at Unley after their fantastic 3rd Quarter.

Do Norwood people think the Club has progressed under Hill?

Percentage is lower than this time last year and will finish 7th, one down on 2005.

On the other hand Sturt have lost the plot.

Victory tonight will give us renewed enthusiasm and spirit for the tough battle ahead.

Norwood's loss last week was due to a wonderful performance by West Adelaide. On paper it looks ordinary losing to a team who has only won 1 game for the year, but if you were at the Parade last week you would have been more taken by how good West were than any poor form displayed by Norwood.

Prior to the West game their performances haven't been too bad. Since defeated North Adelaide and Central District, both matches against Glenelg and South Adelaide were close for 3 quarters, Norwood only played 2 poor quarters over 4 weeks of football.

Many of our supporters have different opinions on this one, but for mine the answer is an emphatic NO ... I really felt that for the last 10 rounds last season we could compete and have a realistic chance of beating anyway, the best teams included, and failed sometimes due to missed opportunities in pressured moments by inexperienced players - The thing was that we had a dip every week during that period, and it should have provided a good launching pad for this year.

There's no doubt we lack the cattle in certain area's, and it should be pointed out that I'm not necessarily laying the blame at Trevor Hill's feet ... But we're nowhere near being a leigitmate contender and take a further step away from that this year, so some serious decisions need to be made on personnel, style etc.

And Hawk FWIW I thoroughly agree with your assessment of Westies last week ... I actually really admired the way they went about their footy ...
