First game up will be between the 2nd and 3rd placed teams this year after the top team Norwood lost on Saturday to the Eagles and went out in straight sets. Should be a great tough contest, I can't split the two teams. I'm hoping the Eagles win, being the timekeeper and all.

Anyone know if Bruce Dawes from Mt Lofty is helping out the Sturt u/18s this year?

This game will also be live streamed on the SANFL website, with Phil Herden and John Nankevill commentating...

Didn't know he was reported. What happens if he gets picked up in the draft?

He was reported (or cited) for 2 seperate incidents...

If he gets drafted to say a Victorian AFL club, he will be aligned to a VFL club and will have to serve out any remaining games from his suspension in that competition...

How did Sam Rowland's shoulder come up?

The Eagles would be keen on getting him back for this one.

He was named in the budget, but will see on Sunday what happens.

Eagles 9.10 (64) defeated Sturt 8.10 (58)

Alan Stewart Medallist for Best on Ground: Matthew Appleton (WWT)

I only watched the last quarter on the live streaming, but Appleton was in everything. Finished with 38 disposals and was reading the Sturt ruckman's taps in the middle and creating movement forward for the Eagles. The standard looked to be very good. Obviously some future league and AFL players amongst them including Grundy and McDonough.

Well done Eagles, surprised at that result. Thought Nwd and Sturt were the two best teams all year in games that I saw and would be the teams most likely but Eagles have played the best footy at the right time of the year. Congratulations to them

They were the top two teams all year, but as they say, finals football is a whole different ball game.

Was a pretty interesting last five minutes of the game. Eagles gave Sturt every chance to steal the game.

Started with a Sturt player running free into 50, bouncing and then passing to his one out FF. The FF edged the Eagle under the ball and probably should have marked the ball. It spilled to about a metre from the line. He recovered, picked it up, keeping the ball in play but his angle forced him into the goalpost as he tried to kick. Ball spilled, he and his opponent go to ground dead centre of goals, ball still in play a metre out and it gets knocked free. Another Sturt player runs through and soccers it from less than a metre out and it gets touched. Huge defensive effort.
The resultant kick out saw the Eagles defender kick from outside the square. A Sturt player roved the resultant ball up and should've snapped the goal. Another point, a goal the difference.
The next kick out went short, hit the target. The follow up quick fell short of its mark, 40 metres out, and a Sturt player mopped up, only to be tackled when he could've given off (if I recall correctly). The ball then headed to the eastern wing, where it was when the siren rang.

I can imagine the hearts were racing in that final period.
