If I had to choose games not involving my own club I'd probably opt for the 1990 Grand Final, and various state games

ahh yes, the 1990 Grand Final, where it started to Piss down with rain 2 minutes before half time. My mate and I chose not to seek shelter in the bar. We were the only ones left sitting in our section. I was wearing a white t-shirt

I also have very fond memories of the last round game of 1989 ( i think ). I remember it was fathers day. Port v North - an absolute cracker of a game....

1991 Grand Final - even though Port wasnt in it - but the entertainment was sensational...

A lot of people would say the 1988 double header first match 1 point thriller between Port & Sturt

Recent times:
2004
Round 1: Port v Central @ Alberton in the first Round - super crowd, warm afternoon, great match, Dogs by 11 pts
Round 16: Norwood v Glenelg @ Norwood - for all the wrong reasons - poor old Bays 1 goal =(
Round 21: West v Norwood @ Adelaide - see sawing match with the Bloods hanging on by 2 pts

2005
Round 14: Norwood v Port @ Norwood - all over at quarter time so we thought! Great comeback by the Pies to just fall short. Legs by 14 pts

Dogs were up by 100+ points that day, most of us were more intrested in the Norwood Port Result, Port were about 9 goals down @ one stage wern't they?

I reakon for memory FC, the last round game of 89 was indeed a cracker between Norwood & Port at Footy Park, Port were coasting till early in the 3rd when a young Lennie Pascoe took Delaney apart and the Legs went on to win comfortably ... Lol although possibly I have the wrong round/year etc, cue Spelly ....

I couldn't tell you much about the game, but for memory I enjoyed the 98 Port v Sturt GF aswell ..

In 1994 when West Defeated Port by one point that was one of the most awesome games i ever watched Simister won that game for us.

That father's day game in 89 north v port was awesome. I think it set some sort of crowd attendance record for a minor round game? ( could be wrong)
I remember vividly not being able to drive my car for about 1/2 hour after the game due to nerves and excitement. Unbelievable!
It's a pity the G.F. that year didnt live up to everyones expectations.

The 73 GF (on video) and the 89 Fathers Day games do live in my memory as the 2 best games I've seen.

As far as comebacks go the best I've seen was when the Bays were 59pts down at 3/4 time of a Foundation cup game (to Sturt I think) and even with shortened quarters managed to win by 1pt with a kick after the siren, I'll never forget that. I think they kicked 10 goals straight to no score in the last quarter but I'll have to rely on a Bay man with good memory to confirm/amend.

And we were up by ten goals early in the second quarter.

Pretty sure the record for a single minor round game is around 35,000 - Port v Norwood, 1981.

The record is 37290 - Round 1 1958, Port vs Norwood, Adelaide.
Football Parks' record is 36397 - Round 2 1990, Port vs Norwood.

That game MP, was Round 22 1981 - 35,213. Port won 16.23 to Norwood 12.1.

I wonder if scoring 22 more points than the opposition would be a record? Cue Spelly again...

:) Yep 1989, Fathers Day Game North d Port 4 Points!
Alot of people do say that game, even neutral supporters.
And just think, a couple of weeks later we would only kick 1 goal
to 15 in a G.F. !
Talk about footy on the day hey !

I must have missed this question, ecky!

It was not a record, here are the instances above it:
