Norwood, Glenelg & West 4 night home games, Central gets 2. Why only 2? Also, no Norwood Oval home games for Sturt? I thought they were having 2.

not a bad draw in terms of loading up night games early!

Glenelg get a double bye from the state game and then rd 7 which is ok.

Someone has to be a victim of the double bye due to state game. On this occasion it's your bays and sturt. We had 2 x double byes in 2012.

The Dogs get a night game at the bay. Will the locals be out in force to protest!

Time to head to my local boat shop and grab some assistance for the lights. ;)

From an Eagles perspective I'm very happy with this draw. Evenly measured byes and no double byes and only 1 x 6 day break. We get Sturt, West, South and North 3 times. Why is it more often than not when we get North 3 times we get two away. No games at Thebby is a negative.

Thebbys now West's area so you might not ever play there again. RIP West Torrens :(

Looking at the Eagles draw, seems to be reasonably well spaced out, except for the gap betwen playing the Legs - Rd 4 to 22.
Regarding the byes, a couple of teams perhaps have got the rough end - Port Rd 4,9,14, South 2,18,23. Centrals and West also only have a 5 week gap, but that's in the middle of winter. Never going to be ideal, but seems a lot better effort than previous years.
Is Unley not Commander anymore?
Why Saturday night games at 6.30, wouldn't 7.10 be a better time to allow amatuer footy followers and players to make it?

Chris Davies from the SANFL talks a little bit about the fixture here...

I think the talk between Lion Nathan and Coopers fell through at the last minute in regards to selling West End product at these games.

Thebarton Oval is in Torrensville though and I don't think that was going to go to West. Relly disappointing that we don't have at least one game at Thebby.

Interesting that the Qualifying and 2nd Semi Finals are scheduled for Saturdays and the Elim and 1st Semis are scheduled for Sundays. Pretty sure it was the other way around back in the day. Seems strange that they're not really in order.

Teams who earn the double chance get the extra days break, seems fair to me.

Right you are! Stupid me should assume that in a town like Adelaide you'd have Thebarton Theatre, Thebarton Oval and Hindmarsh Bowling club in Torrensville. Should have learnt my lesson going to Ascot Park Primary in Parkholme!

absolutely, but i actually dont think its a bad thing, and atleast its early on in the season. if we manage it correctly the double-bye could be a real positive

Looks like a fairly common sense fixture! From an Eagles point of view we play each team once before playing any twice and the byes etc are spread out. Also most games on a Saturday afternoon and a game against Norwood on a Friday night. Nothing fancy with the fixture but I think they have done well.

The Eagles still train at Thebby and will be playing an internal trial there so the location is not the problem, it's the cost of putting on a league match there which is off putting to the Eagles. During the off season the Eagles are limited to where they can train.
