Why would they sell some of their machines which may be needed at another venue in the future, when they could sell off some properties first?
Capital Gains tax might be an issue?
Anyway their crowds are back to normal after those initial night games of a few years back which must be a worry..... is that due to Collo's rubbish gamestyle?

Be some interesting questions asked. Well, there should be. Wonder if they'll get answered?

Maybe they should have a fund raiser - every goal they kick each supporter has to pay 1 dollar.

AGM was interesting.

President stated he wouldn't continue on if re-elected as President but would remain on the board if re-elected.

He was re-elected.

It was also great to see many members asking questions of the President/Board.

In my view the answers were unsatisfactory.

There were many apologies but that doesn't change what has happened or fill you with confidence about our future.

They(the president) admitted to 'taking a risk' with the players contracts that resulted in the salary cap breach. With our financial position i would have thought taking that 'risk' wasn't a responsible thing to do.

There was very little change to the board although Dean Withers was elected to the board. I say good luck to Dean and hope that the whole board can turn our situation around so that we have a viable cub to enjoy for years to come.

One part i left out was the senior coach asking the President/CEO why employees weren't informed that their super payments were from 6 to 13 months behind.

Bizarre that he'd ask that question in such a public forum given the recent publicity about their financial position.

I think if I were the CEO I would have replied that there were 2 reasons:

1) We paid the senior coach too much

2) Despite reaching the Grand Final for the first time in 8 years our home match attendances were down due to the unwatchable style our senior coach demands.

Both of which led to the club going broke!

In all seriousness, the second item is a big concern, home match crowds down 21% according to the Adelaide Now article. I'd guess a lot of the decrease in crowd numbers was opposition supporters who can't bear to watch what is regularly served up at Richmond. On field success is important, but if it sends the club bankrupt then you've got to rethink your priorities I think.

what a schmozzle all round - how club could be dictated to by a coach and end up in such a situation (football spend has gone through the roof since Collins arrived) is a farce, but for the coach to then ask that question in a public forum suggests that morale / cohesion, etc is at disastrous levels.
Thank god the president is standing down – just pray that someone with a spine takes up the challenge before it’s too late.

What Collo did proves that they stuffed it up by keeping him when they could have swapped Mickan straight in his place after that crap GF.
For certain he knew the answer already and was grandstanding for all to see....... loves the club my ass!!
I'd say Mickan would love them though.....
That said, as a club hierarchy they took a serious shot at a flag with Collo, footy dept. and going over the cap, but now that's gone. That's why they needed to get Mickan in to build on and be someone the club could have rallied around.
HUGE mistake :o

Unbelievable that the coach feels he is not getting answers behind closed doors so feels the need to raise it in public to get an answer/action.

The Coach/CEO relationship must be very rocky.

Why is that?

To clarify the question he asked. It was why weren't we informed that the super payments hadn't been paid for the previous amount of time.

As was raised at the meeting many workers football and bar, have life insurance and TPD insurance with their super fund and some workers lost their cover due to no payment being made into their super account for 13 months. This was the first that many people knew that their super wasn't being paid. The lack of communication about it was terrible.

Many people who work(ed) there, would've been happy to have the payments delayed for the club to get other things in order had they been informed about it prior to it happening.

It was the perfect place to ask the question IMO.
