In my childhood, it was a swamp land.

My father, would take the old Ford Station Wagon down there,

taking me and my two sisters down there to collect fire wood to burn in our lounge room fire place..

That would have been 50 years ago.

40 years ago we ran cross country athletic races from our school, Seaton Boys Tech.

The class would run down to Sema4 to swim for the day.

Oh the good old days.

Times were better then.

Deep in my memory, some kids built a tunnel in the sand and it caved in and they died...?

We used to have rock fights with different gangs.

I remember kids from the other side screaming when they got hit.

Now it's called West Lakes.

I'm 50 dogger . I remember the swamp lands .We would pass the tyre stack and the smell would hit you.We were heading to semaphore to visit my step great grandmother in an old folks home!!
I remember being about 20 and going with a mate on surf skis the ones you paddle . In the lake I can remember there being nothing there except rocks for the shore line .Dont think many houses were there at the time .

Amazing how the whingers would think that the SANFL shouldn't maximise this as it's lifeline away from the toilet that is AFL/ VFL!

Just look at it a wise investment by the SANFL in the past.

build wetlands, the wetlands should take the stormwater from the new houses being built at St. Clair & re-charge the aquifer with it, then send the cleaned water into holding tanks to water the reserves in the area.

Yes it was known as Tennyson. When we were kids used to ride our bikes from Findon down there and play in the sand hills and the water. One day we came across a young couple making out on a rug which we thought was pretty wierd stuff. Then another day we stumbled on a group of adults engaged in a two up game.
