Hope the SANFL's getting a real big lot of money for this. Once they're gone, they're gone.

Cows would be worth a bit the SANFL will probably have to pay the AFL to take Port off their hands

Crows are an asset, Port are a liability, I agree. Still, I'm not sure I really want to see the AFL as Port's new masters.

Port will have to find someone else to blame after that date.

Is it?
From what I've heard the return isn't all that much and spread over 15 years in the form of development grants.
The SANFL get F-All for the port license yet all prior debts still have to be covered by the SANFL.
Yeh, great deal!

I was at the lunch and I was sober. What I think he was trying to say is that the sale of the licenses should be done by 1st of November and the AFL reserves in the SANFL isn't on the agenda until after that.

That is how I interpreted it anyway.

Next sh*t fight between the SANFL (or at least those that have the SANFL's best interests at heart) and the AFL will be the Crows and Power license.

Perhaps the AFC could have a representative answer some of our questions on here?

Does the SANFL have to sell them? If one is still profitable, why not keep it? If the other one is seen as a risk not worth having, sell it, give it away?

By selling the licenses, what is the SANFL losing control over? By owning the licenses, what do the SANFL get out of it?

I thought the big plus of selling them would be to get cash flow to help maintain the SANFL as it was, but it's changing anyway.

Anyone have a good understanding of these licenses and why the AFL seem so keen to buy them and the SANFL seem happy to sell?

Get Steven Trigg to negotiate the deal, he will lie and steal a good deal.
